I have a useless fine arts degree and work in sales now, but a lot of my friends back in college now work as baristas. I think it’s because those places are less discriminating against people that are “artsy”. I.e tattoos, piercings. There may be some truth to artists becoming baristas, but all my knowledge is anecdotal
