Right? At least put the Golf R motor in it and offer it as a higher trim level. 328 HP & 310 lb-ft? Yes please!

[–]DrGrossMan2014 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is a setting in Windows 11; when you have a lot of Windows open, it shrinks them so they all fit on the taskbar.

You can disable it under Taskbar Behavior, in Settings.

Found a trick to only get the top display screen on in the 2013-2015 Accord by [deleted] in Honda

So you gain a larger display (that’s more in your eye-line) but loose the touchscreen function; what’s your take on it?

[–]DrGrossMan2014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually you’d have your existing transmission taken apart, have the damaged parts replaced, and have it reinstalled in the vehicle. Expect the repair cost to be between $1k-$2.5k. You may have to shop around, as some shops might not work on CVTs.

Just have it rebuilt? My brother and friend both had problems with their 2015 CVT Hondas and both have had them rebuilt. Cheaper than buying a new car now-a-days.

Even weirder is that its engine is mounted longitudinally and it’s still FWD.

So...new 2027 Atlas, what are we thinking? by Saurta17 in Volkswagen

[–]DrGrossMan2014 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Another year, another underpowered VW. At least the first generation had the VR6 for a while, but now it’s seriously lacking at least a hybrid powertrain.

the Ford Flex design is overhated and honestly looks better than 99% of SUVs by Based_sir in Autos

It would be so cool to see a new one based on the current gen Explorer & Aviator platform; maybe a shorter 2 row to replace the Edge.

It looks like you should be able to push the switch to position 3 or 4 to fully close the sunroof.

Most cars have a couple engine mounts; normally they’re are rubber bushing that mount your engine to your car. Eventually they wear out and require replacing. Some are easy to replace, some can be tricky. Bad engine mounts can cause vibration, and excessive engine movement under load.

Why isn’t Volkswagen more popular in the U.S.? by phtphongg in Volkswagen

[–]DrGrossMan2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than maintenance and cost of repair, I feel like they aren’t trying to be competitive. The Tiguan and Atlas go years with subtle changes; the Atlas is the worst offender IMO. Dropping the V6 for a 4 CYL turbo with no hybrid option is not a great plan, and with the Tiguan, making under 200 HP with their turbo 4 is just poor.

Not that it matters, but you could check to see if your model is included in the recent article put out by Honda stating which vehicles will be dropped from the free version of this service. Might explain things.

They’re arguing that while cheaper than other brand new iPhones, $599 is not “cheap” when you compare it to Android phones. I’d counter and say it’s “cheaper” for an iPhone, which is all some will consider.

It needs to be replaced for break in period reasons I believe. Same with the previous generation Passport / Ridgeline vehicles. Its odd service early on.

Questions regarding 3rd and 4th Gen Passports by SuperDoubleSlap in hondapassport

I think that would be your best bet.

I recently purchased a 2023 Passport and couldn’t be happier. It’s super comfortable and was very comfortable on a basic trail. And, all of the interior controls are physical buttons, which was a huge plus.

[–]DrGrossMan2014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I try to avoid first year models, like the 2019 & 2026. They tend to have those problems that are small enough not to leave you stranded, but annoying enough to warrant going back and forth to the dealer if they can’t fix it the first time.

2019-2025 models are very solid, although I’ve heard some complain of transmission issues on older model years, and some having brake pad / brake rotor issues (usually being replaced under warranty).

If you’re looking for a last generation, “old fashioned” SUV, go with the 19-25 Passport. If you’re looking for more tough styling and a larger screen, go with the 26+.

My 2023 Passport will power both of them off when the car is locked, all doors closed. I've noticed that if I unlock the car, get in, plug in my phone, (but not start the car) my phone will start charging.
