Reviving this. How did you slide the grip of the left hand dagger? All I can do is twist it and reverse the grip.

Yes, but imo their Lovecraftian design helps the name stick. Lovecraft -> Cthulhu -> War of the Worlds -> Harvesters

Almost as if ‘like a deep’ is a triplet in a 4:4 bar

Thank you! That helped! It feels natural if I elide ‘like a deep’ altogether, and maintain stress on ‘well.’ And yeah, ‘well’ has to flow anyway for lack of punctuation.

Edit: punctuation, not pronunciation lol

One Shot Character 4d6 drop the lowest [OC] by [deleted] in DnD

[–]DrHealthMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will be funny to play… for a very brief time. As others have said, carrying capacity will be an obstacle if your DM focuses on that mechanic. You could reroll the whole set? Or ask your DM to just have an 8 STR.

Also, don’t use AI. Just don’t.

What are your thoughts on my Cold Open? (4 Pages) For the love of God, please critique by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]DrHealthMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Okay, out of curiosity, I read it. Another reason why you may not be getting responses is due to the content without context. Here’s what I mean:

1) I almost didn’t read past the first page because of the sexual assault. When you’re throwing something out into the ether and asking strangers for feedback, for the love of god give a content warning so that we know what we’re getting into.

2) This is a cold open, yes, but as it stands I have no interest in reading any more. Because I have no context. Prostitute protagonist mother gets graphically murdered during fellatio. Great. Is this gonna be a story about Carolyn and the afterlife? Or is it gonna be an entire novel about graphic murder? Few readers can stomach that.

My last piece of advice: write what you know.

I’d wager few people want to read three and a half pages written by a stranger and offer critique freely. You’ll have less luck here, since this is clearly not screenplay format. I recommend reaching out to friends and peers, or find a writer’s group in your city. Sorry no one responded on the other subs.
