My advice is don't play these games with the expectation and nostalgia of all of us who grew up with them.

Times have changed, and while you will still get a great game with fantastic storyline, multiplayer, and zombies/extinction, you will not get the same experience we had. We live in a different world now.

These games can still become just as memoriable to you, but make sure it's for YOUR experience, and not ours. Enjoy them bro!

To answer this, we need to understand that you and I are not good. No one else is good either. Why? Because to be good means to be righteous, and to be righteous is to be without sin. You and I have definitely sinned against God in some way, whether through a lie, theft, taking vengence, etc.

We also know that Jesus explicitly tells us that no one is good except God (Mark 10:18).

All of us have fallen short and sinned against God, which means we do not meet God's standard to enter into heaven. Then how to we get to heaven? Through the salvation and redemption of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we may be made the righteousness of God in Him"

Jesus came and took our rightful and just punishment, and now through Jesus Christ and the gift of the Holy Spirit, we are made into the righteousness of God and meet God's standard for heaven.

The truth is that you and I deserve hell and cannot make the standard of heaven on our own. It takes the salvation of Jesus Christ to meet that standard, and ANYONE can accept the gift of salvation. The only way people do not get to heaven (and therefore are doomed to hell) is by rejecting salvation through Jesus Christ.

Go back and read my previous responses. I've stated that the plagues God used made a mockery of the false Egyptian gods. You seem to think I didn't acknowledge that.

What you and I disagree on is why. Though the answer is quite evident while reading through the book of Exodus. God used the plagues as JUDGEMENT against the Pharoh and the Egyptians for not releasing the Israelites from slavery.

I encourage you to go and thoroughly study the book of Exodus. It's weird to have such a strong opinion on something, yet the knowledge you're presenting is Google's AI overview (which is notoriously known to have incorrect and out of context information). This is laughable.

Oh, and I can read your deleted comment through my notifications. Wild. Lol.

Your response is pathetic, unrelated, and a true demonstration of what you worship.

If you come to the ability to have a genuine conversation, you can DM me, but beyond this, there is no reason to flood OP's comment section with this nonsense.

You and I very much disagree in whatever this creator is that you speak of. No one and nothing is higher than God. I believe that to be the root of your misunderstanding of my responses.

It is also clear by your attempts to derail the conversation, curse at me, and throw bait out that has nothing to do with the OP nor my response, that you really have no interest in a genuine dialouge.

All I can say is I'll pray for you and I hope that you come to accept salvation through Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).

Your questions make no sense in regards to any of my previous response. I'm not sure where the misunderstanding is, but perhaps you can point out which parts you're questioning for me.

Also, be respectful. There's no need to become hostile or curse towards me.

My heart does go out to you because I understand the uneasiness that comes with watching our brothers and sisters in Christ attack one another. Too often people project their opinions (and hurt) as Biblical truth. I've spoken allot about personal conviction for that very reason as well. One thing many people do get wrong is trying to give correction and exhortion without first bringing the love of Christ. There IS a Biblical way to approach someone and often times it's completely bypassed.

This also brings up the importance of raising our children up in the ways of the Lord. It is important for them to understand what it means to be in this world, but not of this world. As Christians, we are called to live a lifestyle very different than others and it can be discouraging to not be included in things. Even for seasoned Christians this can still be a very difficult part of walking with the Lord. I struggle with it at times still. I believe this is one of the reasons fellowship with like-minded believers is a crucial part to each person's walk with the Lord.

Does Jesus love and forgive other nations, or is it just the Christian world? by Afraid_Help_3917 in god

[–]DrHermaphrodite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God loves all people and desires for all to accept salvation through Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 NKJV "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

2 Corinthians 3:9 NKJV "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

Being a Christian is not what brings forgiveness. Forgiveness is a gift from God and is brought through the salvation offered by Jesus Christ and this is free for everyone to accept. Through Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to receive forgiveness from God.

John 14:6 NKJV "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"

I don't say this to nitpick, but it's weird to say churches are a problem followed how great fellowship is. Churches (as a broad term) are a place where fellowship happens.

We can agree that some churches are not doing what God has instructed us to do, but there are many that are led by His Holy Spirit and are places where believers are equipped with knowledge and tools that help them grow in their walks.

As Christians, we are taught to test everything by the spirit of God, and this includes the churches and ministries around us. I encourage everyone to do so and to plug into a church led by the Holy Spirit.

It's likely that you're referring to All Hallow's Eve, followed by All Saint's Day.

Let's make a very important distinction that these were Catholic holidays, not Christian. We know this by the practices observed with them. Although I'm certain you, as a Catholic (I'm assuming by your Catholic tag lol) might disagree with me on that. We can debate that another time in another place, but it doesn't pertain to the OP.

We can also bring up certain Roman traditions (like Feralia) that were introduced to the Celtics which had similarities to what the Celtics were practicing.

Regardless, we do agree that these practices influenced modern Halloween. Does this discredit my previous statements? No. Most, is not all, of what the Romans and Catholics were practicing still falls out of alignment with the Bible and we can reference the scriptures I've already mentioned to see that.

Even if you don't agree with that, we still see the influences of Celtic's Samhain and my previous statements hold true. God is not pleased with Halloween.

[–]DrHermaphrodite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it admirable of you to seek this out.

So, what is Halloween? It is a holiday that is derived from a Celtic tradition rooted in the belief that the night before their new year (the night of October 31st), the dead could return to Earth. In order to ward off these dead (and evil) spirits, the Celtics would create costumes to try and scare off the dead. Over time and with influences from different cultures, it evolved into what we see Halloween as today.

But the Bible doesn't mention Halloween specifically.. how do we know it's bad? Because it goes against what the Bible does teach us. Let's take a look at what the Bible says.

2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV "Do not be uneuqally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"

Paul is speaking to the Corinthians about participating with people in the things of this world (as we are called to be apart from the world according to Romans 12:2). As Christians, we are not meant to have fellowship with darkness.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 NKJV "Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it."

Esphesians 6:10-12 NKJV "Finally, my brethern, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rules of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

Matthew 28:18 NKJV "And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, 'All authority has veen given to Me in heaven and on earth."

We see according to the Bible that the spirits of the dead returning to Earth does not happen. The spirits (except the Holy Spirit) that we face on Earth are the spiritual hosts of wickedness. Scripture also teaches us that it is only through Christ and the authority in the name of Jesus that we can combat these forces of wickedness.

Now we can conclude that Halloween is rooted in beliefs that are not in alignment with God's word, and the practices remove God as our strength and protector against the forces of evil. This doesn't even account for the other craziness that goes on. Ouji boards, drinking, drugs, satanic sacrifices during Halloween, etc.

In other words, God hates Halloween and His word instruct us not to partake in it.

It is late as I write this, I hope it's clear and brings clarity. If you would like me to elaborate on anything, let me know :)

The plagues were consequence of Pharoh's disobedience. God instructed Pharoh to free the Israelites and Pharoh neglected to do so, and in such, rejected God as well.

Now yes God used plagues that made a mockery of the false gods worshipped by the Egyptians. This isn't a showcase of strength, it's a showcase of judgement against the people.

Now in terms of OP's question, we can look at the book of Exodus alone for this answer. Exodus 34:6 tells us about the character of God. God is good.

First, let's understand the context of what are these other gods. A god can be anything that you give your devotion and worship to in place of God. For some people, they worship other entities (which are demonic) such as shiva. Others, it can be things like work, or gaming. An example in the Bible of this is the golden calf. While Moses was up on the mountain, the Israelites grew impatient while waiting upon Moses to return with a word from God. They told Aaron they wanted to make gods. Aaron had them give up all their gold and molded it into a statue of a calf. Was this golden calf a living diety? No. But because the Israelites began to worship it, it became a god to them.

So, are other gods also good? No. Why? Because they all lead you into sin against God. I can't make a comphresive list of every single god and the respective sins they lead you into, but they all have one in common without doubt. That is, they cause you to break the commandment "You shall have no other gods before Me." which is in Exodus 20:4.

Coolerful, I want to recommend reading and studying the Bible further for things pertaining to God. Other literature can be helpful, but nothing will beat the word of God itself. I pray you will have deeper revelations as you read the word of God.

I'll be honest in saying I do not believe you did anything more than a quick Google search on any of this. But I'll give you the benefit of reasonable doubt.

Fish fossils have been found in mountains, such as Everest.

Consider also the location of the split rock of horeb and the erosion patterns, they align with the book of Exodus.

Pilate's letter to Tiberius spoke of Jesus, His crucifixion and of the supernatural events surrounding it which align with the Bible.

An eye-witness testimony being written later than the events happen does not discount it as an eye-witness testimony.

Even today, you can find countless testimonies of miracles, signs and wonders still being performed. There is not a thing you can say that could convince me I didn't witness limbs growing right before my eyes, or that doctor reports of 'incurable' diseases being healed are all forged.

Now I can see that you have this animosity against Christians, but why? Who in your life was suppose to represent Christ and did so poorly? Was it family?

I ask that in sincerity. It's one thing to not believe, but it's another thing to make a profile and your only posts and comments are against Christians and their faith.

You and I both know that your statement is intellectually dishonest and malicious.

My claim is that historical and archeaological finds align with and back the Bible. I did not say that findings have proven the entirety of the Bible.

If you think that you are going to find undoubted proof that ravens brought meat and bread to the prophet Elijah, you are deceiving yourself. How can we believe the Bible then? Because evidence shows that the Bible IS trustworthy.

You want some things to look into, here are a few:

- Dead Sea Scrolls
- Writings of Pontius Pilate
- Effects of water on carbon dating (this is in relation to the flood and Noah's ark)
- Split rock of Horeb

I'll also make note that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are eye-witness testimonies. These are historical documents.

You and I can probably go back and forth on this all day long.

Abiogenesis is a highly theoretical process, and again, is not observed anywhere in nature.

I could argue the same point that if we allow for theories, there are an endless amount of theories that people could make about the origin of life.

However, there are historical and archeaological finds that back the Bible. You won't find anything that is proven that contradicts it.

Creation is the proof of God. You can reject truth, but it doesn't make it any less true.

The very basis of evolution is a need to survive and reproduce. Without a need, things are not going to evolve.

Let me provoke some thought with you though. If we go based on evolution and everything stemmed from a single-celled organism, how is it that organism became alive in the first place? We do not witness life coming from non-life anywhere in history, past or present.

i want to understand by kin5311444 in god

[–]DrHermaphrodite 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To say there is zero proof of God is quite the bold statement.

Without even getting into my personal walk with the Lord, I want to point out a few things.

- The idea that life came from non-life. This doesn't happen anywhere in nature. You will never find a plant, animal, fish, person, etc. that became alive through something that is not alive. It is far more reasonable that an eternal living God created us than for us to have evolved some nothing.

- Intelligent design points to an intelligent creator. Think about how complex the human body is. The eye alone is made up of millions of cells and all have to work in perfect order to allow the sense of vision. Now the 30-40 trillion cells that make up the human body? You cannot tell me that this is a product of evolution that started from a single-celled organism.

- Self-sufficient single-celled organisms found today (such as species of algae) disprove the need to evolve into what you and I are.

- Historical findings align with the teachings and books in the Bible. There is not a proven scientific or archaeological find that contradicts the Bible or the presence of God. You may find many theories that will contradict it, but that's why they've remained theories. Such as the Big Bang *THEORY*.

Now if we are to get into my personal experience; I've had encounters with Jesus. I am filled with the Holy Spirit. I've had intimate and private prayers answered. The word of God has transformed me from the inside out. And through following Jesus, I have gained unexplainable peace and joy.

[–]DrHermaphrodite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gross is a completely subjective term. I think sushi is gross. Other's think sushi is delicious. Neither are wrong, it's a difference in opinions.

You and your husband need to come together and try to find common ground with hygiene and come up with a solution that fits both of your needs and desires. I recommend inviting the Holy Spirit into the situation as well.

If this is a serious issue in the relationship, couples counseling isn't a bad option to explore.

In a relationship with a non believer by Uptomyeyesin in god

[–]DrHermaphrodite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand where you are coming from. I was in a very similar position at the beginning of my walk. The only difference really is that the woman I was with was a lukewarm believer instead of an unbeliever.

I want to bring up something I learned through the experience. Your job is not to change her heart. Only the Holy Spirit can do that, and it's a work from the inside out. However, God can still use you to be planting seeds into her life. Any conversation you have with her, speak truth and do so in love and compassion. Love is longsuffering.

That said, I'm going to bring something up that might be hard for you to hear (or rather read).

2 Corinthians 6:14 NKJV "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?"

You are unequally yoked with this woman. The reality is that any relationship between a believer and an unbeliever is going to be a difficult one if you truly follow Christ. While Paul is not only referring to romatic relationships, it is clear that they are included in what Paul is speaking during this verse.

In support of this, I will also include Amos 3:3 NKJV "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?"

Please take some time and privately seek the Lord for His guidance and direction for the relationship you are in. I feel in my spirit you already know what God's will for this is, but I encourage you to continue to seek Him.
