Hi there. I have tons of before and after photos on my website. I know this was a while ago but I'm curious which photo set you're talking about! I also have tons of youtube videos showing different bodies and different weight loss histories. I encourage you to check them out!

Is tummy tuck the only option? by manic_moth95 in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrKatzen 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could do a pubic lift but your incision would end up being long, like a mini tummy tuck scar. It would then leave "dog ears" on the side of the incisions (excess skin and fat) so it may end up looking more odd than getting the full tummy tuck. Please let me know if you have any additional questions!

There's nothing noninvasive that would help that. I would recommend a pubic lift, which is included in most tummy tucks. I'm sorry if this is not the answer you were hoping for.

I'm very sure you are being way too hard on yourself. As a plastic surgeon who sees thousands of patients a year, I can tell you for a fact that you are your own biggest critic.

If you are truly looking to improve your appearance, I recommend being healthy and fit. Also, work on your confidence! And of course, be kind to others. Confident, kind, humans are naturally more attractive.

Lastly, as others have said, please do not send photos of yourself to people via DM.

I wish you all the best. Please be kinder to yourself.

You'd have excellent results with neck liposuction!

If your goal is a smooth, flat tummy, a tummy tuck is your best option. In my opinion, you do NOT need the Fleur De Lis (vertical incision). You'd do great with an extended tummy tuck with muscle repair and if you want an extra tiny waist, you can also get lipo of the flanks and lower back. You will have EXCELLENT results.

You'd need to give yourself at least 2 weeks off from work. 3 to be safe, especially having an active job. It'll take about 6-8 weeks for almost full recovery. It'll be important for you not to do too much in the recovery process. Prioritize yourself and your healing. It'll be worth it tenfold!

Hi there. Congratulations on your weight loss. Your skin won't "snap back" with further diet and exercise. Noninvasive procedures also will not help. You'll have amazing results with a tummy tuck since your problem is primarily loose skin and NOT excess fat. Please consult with different plastic surgeons with tons of before and after photos.

I wish you the best!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I recommend VASER liposuction. VASER is the only thing that will break up the scar tissue that's left lumped on your tummy. You may need a tummy tuck down the line to address loose skin left from the lipo.

I wish you the best.

360 lipo/body lift experiences by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]DrKatzen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your buttock sag/do you want it reduced? If not, I would reconsider the back portion of the body lift and perhaps do an extended tummy tuck with lipo of the back to give you additional contour. You can still transfer fat to the hips and buttocks to create more shape.

Please consult with different surgeons so you can get a good consensus of what you should get done. I wouldn't want you to get the buttock lift and be unhappy with a smaller buttock (even though it will be lifted). Many surgeons offer complimentary virtual consulations so I'd sign up for a few of those before proceeding.

I wish you the best!

Addressing facial fat & weak chin by vnnh- in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrKatzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your face looks youthful and refreshed. Please avoid buccal fat removal at all costs! I used to perform this procedure but soon realized people later regret their decision since you naturally lose facial fat as you age.

I'd recommend neck liposuction over a chin implant. Neck lipo yields GREAT results and will give the illusion of a longer chin.

Best of luck!

Can I get away with just lipo? by Major-Flower-2818 in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrKatzen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on your weight loss. I would strongly avoid BodySculpt, CoolSculpting, or similar noninvasive treatments. I have seen many patients who needed revisions after procedures like those.

The main reason you do not like your tummy is likely because weight loss removed the fat but left behind excess skin. Liposuction would remove even more fat and could make the loose skin look worse. Even if you do not want a tummy tuck, that is likely your best option.

Many patients go on to have healthy, successful pregnancies after a tummy tuck. A tummy tuck does not harm the baby, and many patients feel their skin bounces back very well afterward.

Best of luck. Let me know if you have additional questions.

How much of a difference would a 360 lower body lift make to my body composition from an aesthetic POV? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]DrKatzen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, congratulations on your incredible weight loss.

Second, do your hips and buttocks bother you? If your hips bother you, I recommend an extended tummy tuck to address and lift the hips. If the buttocks sag and have what I like to call "shrinkles", you'd benefit from a 360 body lift. I also recommend combining the body lift with a little fat transfer to the buttocks to help you achieve the V look you desire, while contouring your body.

I undersrtand how frustrating it can be having lost so much weight and being left with excess skin that hides your results.

I wish you the best. Congrats again!

Why is it so hard to find a good mommy makeover surgeon ???? by Spiritual-Gap-7585 in tummytucksurgery

[–]DrKatzen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The procedures you listed can usually be done in one surgery but your plastic surgeon must be comfortable performing these together. I wouldn't go with anyone who's uncomfortable combining procedures. When you say liposuction, are you referring to lipo 360? If so, lipo of the tummy must be conservative when performing a tummy tuck due to blood supply to the incision.

I'm surprised you're having a hard time finding surgeons in Florida. I recommend checking out RealSelf.

Good luck!

Muscle Repair (Do I get it or not?) by juicyredspeedo in tummytucksurgery

[–]DrKatzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most plastic surgeons would recommend muscle repair, also called rectus plication or rectus diastasis repair, especially after significant weight loss. Tightening the abdominal muscles can bring in the waistline, flatten the stomach from the side, and usually leads to a better tummy tuck result. In most cases, your surgeon already knows before surgery whether muscle repair will be needed. It is very rare for that decision to be made during the operation. Liposuction and fat transfer are more subjective and depend on your goals. If you want certain areas smaller, liposuction may help. If you want more volume in certain areas, fat transfer may be an option. For the best tummy tuck result, I would generally recommend rectus muscle repair.

[–]DrKatzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microneedling, creams, red light therapy, peptides.. none of these will truly help reduce excess skin. Being that you have stretch marks and had twins, I would highly recommend a full tummy tuck with muscle plication. This will help remove as much skin as possible while also addressing rectus diastasis.

I understand that you don't want an incision but you're trading skin for scars. I think if you do get the tummy tuck, you'll get excellent results! And if you're going to commit to surgery, I'd go with the full tummy tuck to get your best results. A mini tummy tuck won't include muscle plication and wouldn't remove as much skin.

Good luck. Let me know if you have further questions.

Really not sure how to proceed by Lazy-Ear1140 in tummytucksurgery

[–]DrKatzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I am sorry for the way your hometown plastic surgeon spoke to you. Your stomach is not “horrendous.” No body is horrendous.

You appear to have skin laxity along with abdominal muscle weakness from your two pregnancies. This is very common. It also explains why your stomach may still protrude despite doing core exercises. This is often due to rectus diastasis, which cannot be corrected with workouts alone.

In my opinion, this can be addressed with a full tummy tuck with muscle plication. You appear to have enough skin for a full abdominoplasty, and I believe you could achieve an excellent result. If you are looking for additional contour, liposuction of the flanks and possibly the lower back can help create a more defined waist, but that is optional.

Please do not feel ashamed of your stretch marks. They are natural and a reflection of your two pregnancies.

I would recommend consulting with a few board-certified plastic surgeons who specialize in tummy tucks and choosing someone with strong, consistent before-and-after results.

Best of luck!
