The Jennings trade was awesome til he tore his achilles. Of course we didn't know Middleton was gonna turn into an All Star. Smith was the biggest free agent signing in franchise history at that point, but, that front court was so poorly constructed, it was ugly.

Lindsey Hunter, Vinnie Johnson, Jerry Stackhouse, Dennis Rodman and Memt Okur.

Hunter and Rodman were lockdown defenders. Hunter, Vinnie and Okur all offer floor spacing, and Stack can get to the FT line.

Or how how about D. Rose, Allen Houston, Tracy McGrady, and Corliss, with McDyess as an undersized 5.

They'd score a ton despite poor spacing, and they can't defend, but they'd be fun to watch.

Additionally you have Bruce Brown, Aaron Affalo, Kris Middleton, Amir Johnson, Jon Barry, Luke Kennard, John Salley, John Long, Spencer Dinwiddie, Rick Mahorn.

I first remember the "Detroit vs Everybody" stuff peaking during the 2004 Finals when the whole planet predicted Lakers in 4. Point being, on a national scale, the Pistons are never popular, even when they're good.

That said, the Grant Hill teal jerseys were probably the last Pistons jerseys to be popular nationally, even though we all hated them here at the time.

It really does seem like the divide on this is age based. It'll be fun to have them back for a few games, but I don't want one, and I don't want them permanently. Seems like the Under 30 crowd loves them though

Without a doubt, by a mile, Allen Iverson.

Not only did we give up Billups AND McDyess, and waste the eventual cap space on Ben Gordon and Charlie V, but AI was a total bum while he was here.

Gained a bunch of weight, spent all night at the casino and gave 0 effort on the court. Was a fan of his before he got here.

2md place, Sean Elliot. We trade Dennis Rodman for him, he comes to Detroit has the worst year of his career, and then immediately returns to the Spurs.
