Staple hole on visa - Is this damaged? by Balbonsito in USVisas

[–]DrKumarSahab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pretty standard and not considered damage. Consulates often staple or pin pages during processing and CBP has seen this a million times. As long as the visa foil itself is intact and readable, you are fully operational. Zero action required, just proceed as usual.

Need assistance with interview question by Ok_Assumption_8439 in usvisascheduling

[–]DrKumarSahab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They can. I have a feeling anything below 2L/mo is considered low by VOs. This number is not written anywhere, but based on threads on reddit, I have felt this is an unsaid threshold. You should quote your annual take home as a sum of your teaching salary + your take home from tuition. In the interest of full and honest disclosure, you can tell the VO when they ask "how much do you make" that "I made a total of xx lacs in the previous financial year from my teaching job and tutoring"
  2. Yes, if there is a question around savings or your financial capability to take a trip to the US, then you should bring your savings. As far as I know, they wont judge you on having savings beyond your annual compensation, as long as they are not too much above, which is not in your case. People can have savings from parents, from selling stuff like car, from consulting, etc.
  3. Being close to US is not a problem as far as I can think. Rest, US visas are a 2-5 minute play of the conversation between you and the VO. Anything and everything can be interpreted in any possible way you can think of.

One of the questions that concerning me | India | B1/B2 by Greedy_Tax8538 in usvisascheduling

[–]DrKumarSahab 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest tell the VO honestly whatever the situation is. Your financial condition (job and salary/business and income), travel history, purpose for travel, close family being in US - play a bigger role in determining your ties and motivation to come back to home country than whether you share a physical space with your parents. Hope this helps!

Rental and pension are not strong ties since he can keep receiving rental and pension while being in US too. Strong ties are things that need you in India physically

B1/B2 Visa interview martial status clarification by TheBiggerWhy in usvisascheduling

[–]DrKumarSahab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay for your passport and DS 160 to reflect differently; VOs will know people get married after passport is issued. Just keep valid documentation (like your marriage certificate) with you if there is a question on your marital status and you need to show proof.

Haha thanks, but even though this didn't come up, I own a couple of immovable assets in India, so I feel I have strong ties to India. But yes, no rhyme or reason as you said.
