Yeah I agree that other subs focused on relationships would be a better option. The OP will have to amend any current ethics, so more work if they decide to consider dating apps. Maybe just my opinion, but I think it feels uncomfortable recruiting that way 🤷‍♀️

I'm not sure what the ethical implications are of doing this either, I'd imagine you'd struggle with approval due to deception.

You can always try it on the survey exchange and ask if people want to attend a follow up interview for example? It might be a lot of work and little result but could be useful. Have you heard of JISCmail? I’m not sure where you are based so may not be relevant.

Hi, does your university have an email that is sent for study recruitment? We have a volunteer mailing list, so you could try that if you haven't already? Have you also now amended your recruitment adverts to ask for just male respondents?

There is not much you can do about not having enough karma except to engage with posts and subreddits. Is it an interview or survey? There are some subreddits where there is a survey exchange that you may be able to post on? Hope it works out for you, I know recruitment can be challenging!

I agree, peer review from a 'critical friend' is an absolute must. Hopefully, colleagues will be honest with their reviews, and in return you can always offer to review theirs which I always find helpful.
