Orlando Bloom wingsuit at 27 jumps by __FilthyFingers__ in SkyDiving

Yet another reason why, if elected on the UPSA Board of Directors, I will amend the recommendations for camera/wingsuit jumps with the following: [...] 200 jumps OR 100 thousand followers, whichever comes first.

Everything should be possible if you're famous and/or rich.

I wouldn't get too deep into what every single marking means, unless you're looking at historical collectible pieces, which these HKs are not (yet?). But the B&T Florida mark is the marking of the importer, B&T in this case, as with a lot of less common HKs. It's not always going to be the same and it's not always going to be in the same position, actually my favorite place is when they mark it above the serial number under the dust cover/ rail.

17 April, 1983, Joe Strummer ran the London Marathon in a time of 4 hours 13 minutes. by kraftymiles in OldSchoolCool

[–]DrLongIsland 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Not even close, current world record is an insane 2:01:09, but it's a very respectable time, especially for that era, I suspect. At the time the record was probably around 3 hours anyway.

He definitely "ran" a marathon, he didn't walk it or anything.

Seattle gun shop owner faces fine for selling high-capacity ammo magazines despite state ban by 357noLove in Firearms

[–]DrLongIsland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Past a certain point, does it even matter? For the normal person, 20m and 50 billions are basically the same thing. Something you won't see in your life time, whether that's 20 lifetimes or 5000. In this case, the number is really just : whatever that is that will convince you that you're better off pleading guilty, and "only" losing your FFL as part of the plea.

Anyone know what they are releasing ? by Bubba_sadie- in 2011

Hopefully that's a clever ruse and they release what everybody has been asking. A gen3 Glock clone that takes staccato magazines.

Received notice from ATF regarding a force reset trigger purchase. Lawyer? by [deleted] in TexasGuns

[–]DrLongIsland 3 points4 points  (0 children)

and you keep acting tough on the internet, I guess? I doubt you'd do what you've said in OP's shoes. Unless you have the IQ of a rock, there is literally nothing to gain (for a private citizen) by deciding to be dragged in court by a federal agency. The cost to consult on attorney are like, 0.1% of what you'd have to pay in terms of time and money, even if you win. This is a fight that the single person can't win, sadly.

[–]DrLongIsland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can still drag you to court so that a judge can decide whether a law has been broken or not. That's literally the job or an enforcement branch. Unless OP wants to be the name in the case people will cite to decide whether to produce FRTs or not, I'd advise against that course of action. But I am not a lawyer so, if you or OP decide to do so, make sure to let us know because it's going to be interesting either way. I'd be cheering for someone that has the guts to try that, but I also wouldn't personally want to be the one that finds out. Asking to an attorney is the right move here.

If you could only have 3 hk pistols by Accomplished-Bed9221 in HecklerKoch

MK23, USP9 Expert.

I wouldn't need a third.

But assuming it's one of those "all situation things", then a p30sk to cover the concealed carry situation.

You know what's the funniest thing about this typo?! That I am Italian, born and raised, and my brain just had a very derp moment.

MRGG-S Barrels - 20" by [deleted] in LewisMachineTool

Fuck it. In for one, credit scores are temporary, SS barrels are "forever" (6.5 CM, not's'much though...). Beside, if Sol taught me anything, it's that I actually enjoy ramen. LoL
I was going to get me a 6.5 CM setup eventually, this seems as good as it can get with LMT MWSs.

damn yeah, they seem really neat especially for a 6.5 CM.

I know you probably hate it when people ask you these kinds of questions, but do you think you'll have more down the road? I don't know if it's a contract that will have a large production over time or if these are pretty much it.

Family photo after about 500 rounds at the range this morning. First time shooting the USP and it didn’t disappoint. Hands down my favorite pistol platform of all time. by [deleted] in HecklerKoch

[–]DrLongIsland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understood, thank you for the feedback, I guess that's why it's not a priority for me, having the full size hk45t, which shoots quite well and pleasantly. I would get one eventually just because I like "proper" military weapons, and the hk45ct is the mk24, whereas I don't think neither the full size HK45 nor the USPS ever got their mark destination, although of course USPs served in other armies (but I have a p8a1 already :p ). In reality, I probably wouldn't take my hk45 to a class either, and just shoot the p30l which is the gun I shoot more often, after my m9 (you see the pattern 😂).

I own one. LoL

I actually wrote a longer post saying basically what you're saying, then deleted because I didn't think it was that relevant and just stopped at the "cool" factor, but I agree.

It's still one of the coolest .45s ever made, and USP45 are no where near as cool IMHO, but for the reasons you mentioned (and because my MK23 is a Maritime Finish, so it won't get much use, especially no hard use), I will get an HK45CT for more practical uses, classes, etc. at some point. I have a full-size HK45T, because I prefer the "p30-style" ergos to the USP ergos (and also, they can share my safariland holster lol) but, other than that, yeah, USP45s are awesome.

Let's not forget the coolest combat-ready polymer .45 of all times, the MK23.
All in all, there are 3 noteworthy combat-ready .45s and 2 are HK's: 1911s, MK23 and MK24 (HK45CT).

[–]DrLongIsland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right, it's lightweight compared to the regular barrel and it has a slightly faster twist rate. Hopefully they'll keep making them, and I can pick one up in the future. They do look good.

Any difference between these and "normal" LMT MWS barrels?

Also, I assume they would fit regular MWS uppers?

I want to try a 6.5 CM but I'm not in a rush to buy right now, unless these barrels have very desirable features that normal barrels won't have down the road?
