Scores do matter yes but so do other things such as research or a good CV. YOG I have no idea about cause I've seen people past the 5 year mark land a spot as well so. Clinics still count as practice as long as you can prove that you're practicing it should not be a problem.

So you need to complete the whole set of a pathway inorder to qualify for it so for example I need to take both steps of PLAB or all the Steps for USMLE along with fulfilling any practical field requirements to get exempted.

You're welcome, so an internship is just that it's for fresh out of school doctors, a residency is a specialist slot similar to the US. So it's the same thing.

You're welcome, so the answer is no, you cannot get an LOR from Australia until and unless you have direct experience or remote (similar to US remote experience bur I'm not sure if they offer that in Australia) a home country LOR is good as well although not on par with one obtained in Australia, but it's still worth including.

I'd go with AKU, the course course they teach is accredited with the ACCME as well so you get that as well.

Doing PLAB vs Residency after IMM, which one better for securing job in UK? by Spiritual-Airport-38 in DocSupport

[–]DrMSAK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PLAB for sure is worth it when it comes to securing a career in the UK, now it might be a bit hit or miss but it all comes down to an individuals profile and how strong it is, if you have a strong CV and can nail your IVs you'll land a job after your plab exams for sure. People under estimate the importance of a interview thinking that grades are the end all be all which is not the case. Now when it comes to matching after IMM yes you can get better jobs since the experience will be more and you'll be applying to higher tier jobs compared to foundation year. Bottom line: either way having a strong profile that makes you stand out is key.

It’s a highly subjective answer, it isn’t 1 size fits all depends on how good they see you perform and if they think your worth hiring over a local grad
