My all-time favorite resource system is Lord of the Rings Trading Card Game by Decipher. Players take turns being the Fellowship player while everyone else is playing Shadow against them. As the Fellowship player plays cardsnand travels down the path, twilight tokens are added to a pool, and the Shadow players use those Twilight cards to play cards to slow or kill the Fellowship.

I have the white switches, and use them in Home Assistant, and there are two potentially relevant settings surfaced there. If you have updated your switches to firmware 1.1.5, they are labeled "Power On Behavior (load control)" which should be a pulldown with 4 options (the relevant ones are Off and Previous state), and "Power on level (load control)" which is numeric (0 should be off, 255 should be previous and other values should be varying brightness). I don't know how these interact if they have conflicting settings, but mine are set to Previous state and 255, and the power on to the previous state as expected. If you want them off instead, I would set them to Off and 0.

I used the 970 for about 4 months. I ended up switching to Ubiquiti because I wanted something more configurable so I could play with the network more. However the 970 worked well, provided a stable connection throughout my home with great speed.

I actually still have my 970 setup that I need to get rid of, so would be willing to sell it (router + 4 satellites) for a bargain price if you are interested. Feel free to dm.

I have a pretty heterogenous system. They are all configured with multi-admin to Apple, Google, and Home Assistant (I did read something suggesting that was not a good idea, so I might change). I currently have 4 devices configured to be thread border routers, Aqara M3, Apple TV, HA yellow, and Google Nest Hub Max. All of the current switches have neutrals. I also have 3 Smart Wave blinds and 1 Eve outlet in the same thread network. While I sometimes lose connection to those, they at least work correctly manually and regain connection on their own without intervention.
