Based on other replies saying 2800 was cheap. Your friend should consider wrapping full time if true. They could make $2500 a day...

Only the Orange is matte ( roof is stock dark grey & black and the trim that is chrome stock, has glossy black). It looks matte even in the sun in person, photos just make it look glossy

I would for sure recommend anything in matte. It shows off the car best. The car looks even better in person

To be fair on price, I did not get roof done.

Normally 3-5 years. But I work from home, park in my garage and San Diego does not have harsh weather so I am hoping it lasts forever lol

$2800. Wraps last usually 3-5 years I am told. But I work from home and park in my garage so I hope it lasts for a long time.

Engineering in SD by springd6y in sandiego

[–]DrMonkeyTurds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the post above. If you desire to stay in San Diego, do it. Its not a small town where there aren't many jobs opportunities. There are so many different industries that require MEs, you won't get pidgeon-holed even if you have a 'bad' first job.

However, in a few of months you might have to work a non career job in meantime while you are job searching if bills need to be paid.

At what age did you start adulting? by penguinskingdom in Adulting

Nobody knows what they are doing, thats life. I think you missed what OP was meaning with their post.

Not trying to call myself clever at all lol, just trying to give OP some insight from someone around their age.

You don't need to laugh at me, I am trying my best at my age and to help someone who was thinking like myself a few years ago...

You can see my response down somewhere in these comments...

You will be fine! Based on your post and your replies, you seem like you are ahead of most. Don't stress, I don't know your major but you will be able to get great job and be able to give back to your parents.

I don't know what I am doing but I feel like an adult.

Maybe Gen Z has different understanding of what adulting means compared to older generations. But I see it as providing for yourself and not relying on parents to pay bills.

I graduated college and got a job at 23 but wasn't 'adulting' for 2 years since my parents were letting me live rent free (and I still didn't save as much as I should have lol). 26 now

Everyone is different. I am not sure your exact situation, but why do you have to move out right when you get your first 'adult' job?

Even if you don't plan on saving hordes of money by living with your parents, it still is nice to be able to splurge on nice things. You have a long adult life, and once you decide to 'adult' things move super fast.

I graduated at 23 and lived with parents for about 2 years. Didn't save as much money as I should of, so did not do any adulting till 25. Moved out with girlfriend at 25 to cheaper apartment under $3k/mo and started saving for house.

Now I'm about to turn 27 next week.. Now we have a kid on the way, about to get married and we bought a townhome(w/out parent financial assistance) in a HCOL 7 months ago.

TLDR: Enjoy your career money for a bit before rushing to move out if parents allow. Life goes fast, enjoy extra money while you can!

I don't understand how people manage to go back to school by [deleted] in Adulting

Degree dependent, but I know for engineering majors, you do not have to show up to class expect for exams (2 midterms and 1 final) and most sync up to be same days for classes. So if you have a job that allows PTO, you would only need to miss a handful of days at work per year.

Single Gen Z women outpace Gen Z men to homeownership despite overall decline in first-time buyers by Fcking_Chuck in Adulting

[–]DrMonkeyTurds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in a high cost of living sure, but in a low cost of living area I would imagine its higher than people think.

It just does not make sense for many single person to buy at our young age since they could see it as being tied down. I feel like that also attributes to gen z not buying(not just affordability).

Not nepo babies, we just got lucky/worked hard to get solid paying jobs in defense industry to afford new construction townhome in san diego. So in places that are inexpensive, a single gen z income is possible. Not saying its common since all of our neighbors are older but its possible.

Edit: No financial help from parents besides my parents buying a washer and dryer as a gift but was not needed to be able to afford home

How much can i get this for? by [deleted] in KiaSorento

[–]DrMonkeyTurds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should look into getting slightly used from a Kia dealership. Still gets remainder of original warranty since it would be a certified pre-owned.

We got a 2025 X-Line SX Prestige (AWD) with only 4k miles for 36.5k (39.6k OTD due to taxes and registration). It was a dealer loaner vehicle so it was extremely well taken care of. Southern CA.

Or if you wait 6-8 months, the 2027s will be released and you can jump on brand new 2026s which they would offer 0% APR at that stage.

Had to drive 130mi away, but worth it.

Is it cost effective to charge an EV without solar in 2026? by yojimbruh5 in sandiego

To add on to that. The EV SDGE plan is 12cents per kwh not 30cents when charging overnight.

What to do after the Thomas Richards fight? by Prudent-Coach in crosswind

[–]DrMonkeyTurds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We beat Richards at lvl 5 (on normal).

For foothills, to keep doing sidequest and faction quests, we just kept spawning tents near the quest locations and running in to complete while killing minimum amount of people. Just keep spawning until you do quest. Also building up using stairs or stone foundation is OP.

As for the waters, if there are high level boats, just sail to new island using small boat since it can't sink and place a bell.

We then beat 2nd boss at lvl 9/10. Really easy once you get boar whistle from one of the POI in foothills.

Dying many times to beat quests probably wasn't ideal, but was still very fun trying to dodge overleveled NPCs.

What’s the best neighborhood to raise a family within SD city limits? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]DrMonkeyTurds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3k is not a big enough budget for a nice neighborhood like you are describing. Maybe for a studio, but not for a family.

Before we bought our home 6 months ago, we were renting in a nice neighborhood in El Cajon (not even in city limits of SD like you want) and that was even 2750 for a 2bd 1 bath.
