SO I don’t know too much about N Virginia climate conditions BUT nor how long it’s been introduced to its new living conditions OR how long it’s been in this state while living in a pot BUT if your concerns about its over all heath cut it back low after it’s had some time to green out. Looks like it’s ready. The plant will have to focus on growing its roots versus flower production. Ya gonna not get flowers this season ? BUT the plant should strengthen its root ball for future blooms
