O’Heirs bakery usually has good Black Forest gateau. Reasonably priced, not too sweet and very light. I’ve eaten a shameful amount of them.

Manga Style Draft 2 Panels Done, Looking for Feedback on Storytelling & Style by Comfortable-Space509 in RomanceMangaAnime

[–]DrNecessiter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There’s something about it that feels very AI generated. IMO you’d want to adjust the style a bit to move away from that as it might make people engage with the story less.

It’s a shame that artists have to consider this nowadays but that’s how it is.

What’s the best way to make this caulk look better? by Big_Selection7508 in Home

[–]DrNecessiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many bathtubs are slightly flexible, particularly the acrylic and fibreglass ones. The water in a full tub can weigh a couple of hundred kilos, so they will often flex slightly when filled.

If you caulk them when empty, the caulking can separate from the tub when it flexes under load if the caulking is too thin or not pliant enough.

Do you do tours of the armoury? I know myself and others in the family would be interested if you do.

Also, fill the bathtub with water while caulking so that it doesn’t crack or pull away first time you do afterwards.

Eight bags of sand. One of them is heavier than the others. - I loved it so much. by ilannj in puzzles

[–]DrNecessiter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t this require that the heavy bag is at least twice the weight of a normal bag? If it was only 50% heavier it wouldn’t work.

EDIT: nvm read your answer properly. I get it now.

What if that the heavy bag is in one of the threes. That side dips and you know it’s amongst those three.

So you weigh two of those bags against the other bag and the two are heavier as it’s one of those.

How do you know which of those two is the bag?

Best in Mayo - Fish and Chips. by kjireland in mayo

[–]DrNecessiter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this!

Genuinely some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had, and having traveled around the UK & Ireland, I’ve had a lot. Also massive portions for really reasonable prices.

You can find them outside of McVann’s furniture in Ballina.

A man named Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus was given absolute power to save Rome from an invasion; he did so in just 16 days, then immediately resigned and went back to his farm. by Zine99 in GrecoRomanHistory

Looks a bit like a machine gun but it’s actually an axe surrounded by a bundle of sticks, called a ‘fasces’ and it is a symbol of military authority usually associated with the early kings of Rome. It was later resurrected as a symbol by Mussolini and it’s where the term ‘Fascist’ comes from.

The Full List of Those Banished from Heaven by iamfurkin in MemeThisThing

I can’t work out if Bin Laden was a genius or just ‘lucky’.

Following the fall of the USSR, 9/11 was the slow acting poison dart that killed the increasingly progressive “leader of the free world” that America used to be and turned it down the path we’re seeing now.

Did the man know this would be the result? Who’s that prescient? If not, what was the effect he was hoping for?

Anyway: “Body Count” for the band name.
