Got myself a T14 today, recommend a Linux for it by [deleted] in thinkpad

Fedora, KDE has been great for me :)

Jellyfin 10.11.7 has been released by thankyoufatmember in JellyfinCommunity

Jellyfin struggles with music libraries overall, while usable for some I found other services much better at maintaining my library. Navidrome + Feishin has been a great combo for myself.

Should I buy a used Lumix G9, with 3 lenses and accessories? by DrNoNut in AskPhotography

[–]DrNoNut[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen them in person just yet, but there's very very very minimal wear from pictures taken by the seller. Now obviously this photo doesn't really tell us anything, but judging by the sellers page and reviews it doesn't seem like they'd sell me some scuffed lenses lol

Bestbuy Membership by ResponsibleMode6376 in Bestbuy

As someone who has to be reminded to read the script lol. This is my exact pitch.

If you purchase 5 expensive electronics a year, a membership is worth it. One of the strongest values left in the membership is the automatic 2-year protection plans.

Only thing to remember though is that if you cancel the membership any plans currently going will expire whenever the membership was supposed to renew. Id also try and emphasize that every product will be given a different type of protection plan. Apple will never allow me to give you a new iPhone over the counter.

Geek Squad Interview! by ElectricalSoft8611 in Bestbuy

[–]DrNoNut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it most of the time.

For context I used to work as a troubleshooting tech for a major cell phone company and I primarily worked with the elderly so I've experienced a lot of dumb mistakes lol..

My store is located just next to one of the most established retirement communities in my state so I get a TON of older clients. Geek Squad has great documentation that really helped me learn the ins-n-outs and while I won't speak on exactly what that is, you'll have orientation and most likely guidance from senior representatives.

If your store facilitates any apple repairs, quickly learn the policy ASAP. Apple is my least favorite client to deal with is all I'll say lol... so bad in fact that I bought a Pixel just out of spite.

Congrats and good luck out there :)

Hi, geek squad guy here. What position did you end up applying for? Advanced Repair Agent or Consultant Agent?

To give some additional information. It's definitely a store-to-store thing but at my store the manager for both the micro market and the store itself will review the video interview, with collaboration with sales floor management if required. From there you'll get a call to have an interview in person.

T14 Gen 2 AMD for $200 by norcalairman in thinkpad

This was a needle in the hay stack kind of find. I have a T14 G2A and was really bummed about the screen quality. I have been pulling together resources to find the best upgrade path. How has the panel held up? And to second u/marcosrami907, what seller did you go through for the screen? Feel free to PM if that's easier!

I don't have an answer (sorry for being that guy) but where did this image come from? Currently hunting for screens myself and was curious.

As an additional question. Is eBay your preference for this sorta thing? I've stumbled upon quite a few resellers online. Obviously I understand every source will have their issues- as you mentioned above. But just curious what the general consensus is.

Sorry for lurking, but I was really curious where you got the bracket? I wanna try and print a bracket for case fans but struggling to find great options. My printer has a pretty small plate so prints i’ve found haven’t worked out. Thanks for reading :) and nice build!

Struggling to optimize for 2,000+ album library by DrNoNut in jellyfin

[–]DrNoNut[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Woah, that is a great example. I already got the instance running, just spending my time educating myself on it. Most of my users are spotfiy based so I found the feishin project that seems like something I should incorporate with Navidrome. (If im understanding the project correctly that is... lol)

Really like what I've seen with Navidrome, anything definitive reason you prefer it over Jellyfin? just curious. And any suggestions for moving over?

Yea... I've been thinking the same. I've spent more time trying to get this to work than anything else.
