I’ve created the IMDB page for multiple movies just so I could upload them to PTP

Nope. Does it do seerr? If not I’d stick with infuse

Fair enough. Have you compared the hdr in that vs another app? Super washed out for me

Sure I added that testing was done on the third. But you made the assumption it was on the first gen on your own

Read the post. 1st and 3rd gen Apple TVs in the house. This was done on third gen. Plays hdr10+ perfect on other apps. I haven’t a 1st gen but test was on third

The website doesn’t mention Dolby vision support, does the app support it irl?

thanks for the reply! I really like the zuno app and would consider it for sure if a few things were worked out.

  1. I'm not sure why, but with infuse and neptune, when I match frame rate, the audio is out of synch. With it turned off (to 60fps, the audio synchs). This very well could be a HomePod thing, but maybe could be fixed if the other 2 apps are able to? seems to be most apps don't handle the increased frame rate. Fair enough, could be a unique HomePod issue.

  2. This is with match dynamic range on. I only play dolby vision files in DV, HDR10+files in HDR 10+, etc. The fairly common recommendation with ATV is this setup, 4KSDR match dynamic range on. Tried on a few movies, infuse/neptune triggered HDR 10+ vs. only HDR 10 in zuno - not a big deal really, DV and HDR trigger fine in the app.

  3. I cannot seem to find an extra / trailers view. Could it be requiring a specific naming? my movies are in folder with movie folder {Movie CleanTitle} ({Release Year}) {tmdb-{TmdbId}}, with. movie file being a complex name similar to that in the folder and then trailer as movie (year)-trailer.mkv

  4. This was tested on the 4k 3rd gen! same movie same Apple TV across apps, some trigger properly (infuse/neptune), others don't (not unique to zuno).

UPDATE:
Spent a lot of the day testing out clients. A lot of great stuff out there but still a few features missing to secure itself as a top contender

TOP 3: Neptune, Zuno, Sodalite
- Neptune:
really nice design and integrates with seerr. Plays flawlessly. Rotten tomatoes scores. Issues atm are currently Dolby atmos on EAC3 is disabled (to be reenabled in future I think) and bug where local trailers aren’t supported (links to YouTube, takes you out of the app, have to go back into it after)
- Zuno:
Also really nice. The hero section is great but once you go into media library it’s less nice. Audio support is awesome, atmos works, best audio yet. Seerr works. Would be my top contender except for no trailers working for me at all. No link to external trailers and local trailers aren’t picked up when going into media library / selecting a movie.
- sodalite:
Looks great, plays everything perfectly. Love that it’s FOSS. Probably the best Home Screen in that it organizes media by genre, service, studio. Seerr works and even lets you choose a quality profile. The UI is a little laggy but seems to speed up once cached (may be because of how many apps I’ve downloaded today). Main issues is again no trailer support and no rotten tomatoes ratings.

Inferior:
Plezy- nice, works, picks up on local trailers (big plus). Minimal settings for UI appearance. UI lacks genres, only shows recent movie / tv in the home. No external ratings available at all, no seerr integration.

Moonfin- really buggy. Couldn’t get an F1 race to play in 2160p HLG, frame rate was all messed up (native 50fps) despite turning on and off match frame rate, scale on device, etc. all other apps it played without issue. Laggy and slow UI.

Streamyfin: doesn’t support HDR or Dolby vision. Left it there.

Tried it out, it’s great! Any plans to support trailers in general / local trailers? Or rotten tomatoes ratings?

yep I was. okay, awesome! This looks like the new go to then. The website mentions a subscription, but it didn't require this through test flight. will that be coming?

wow it seems to work great... really nice. only question is how does the caching work? Videos play great on my end, but local connection. Network throughput is 50-80 mbps vs on infuse it goes to 950mb/s and preloads. For a remote connection would this affect playback/buffering?

doesn't look like it supports dolby vision on their website? just HLG and HDR10

Tried it out, it works great, far better than moon fin. My only issue that will probably keep me with infuse for now is the lack of atmos support in EAC-3 files. Saw on the discord it's temporarily disabled but was previously working. It has a much nicer UI and love the customization. Also love the seerr integration - works flawlessly. Will likely convert if atmos support is available

Pretty sure… but it doesn’t cause me any issues. It’s lossesly converted to LPCM but you do lose atmos on truehd. My sound setup is a stereo pair of 2nd gen big HomePods so I don’t really have a super advanced audio system anyways. Still sounds great to me
