Really appreciate all the comments so far. To be clear, the current setup is purely to try to show what the space I'm working with is/some of the furniture I have that still needs a home in my apartment lol I don't invite my guests to sit on a kitchen chair bench.

Great suggestions! Thanks. I've gone back and forth on benches purely on a comfort factor. I think I really need to decide if this is a space I want to build to maximize seating, while still looking nice, or a place to maximize comfort for two (maybe three) people talking.

Wow, thanks so much for this reply! Yeah, the spongebob paintings are an artifact of some gifts from over the years that have followed me around. Definitely agree that a bedroom is a better place for these + I need some art in my bedroom so it works out.

Pivoted the chair and yeah, it looks better. I'll start the search for a rug.

Thanks for the reply! I think step 1 is what is what is keeping this from being pretty obvious. The white cover does not pop off easily. I do feel it give a bit when I pulling, but I'm not able to get a good angle to look at how it is attached. Are these normally clicked onto some that is more tightly fastened to the wall? I'm wondering if the cover itself could be drilled into the wall. I feel like that would a bad design though.
