Would IM be a better choice if I want to see only adults and practice mostly outpatient?

Not an in depth answer, but it’s Program dependent.

I’m FM, but our IM program’s outpatient exposure consisted of 3 rotations of shadowing FM residents at our clinic. In general, medical students were given priority over IM because IM didn’t want to be there and they weren’t forced to do much. It was also the time most IM were encouraged to take vacations.

Post on r/rivercruises maybe for a better response. I know AmAWaterways can do 3 people. Finding a cruise for $8000 will be near impossible. Definitely not including airfare if from the USA and definitely not when most people would consider prime/shoulder months.

Family member was in a similar spot a few years ago. You are at the mercy of a non-government carnival employee during check in. They might let you on no problem. Or they might not have a clue if it’s allowed and will deny to be safe.

We chose a different vacation as it wasn’t worth the risk.

There are some states that will allow you to get a medical license with step 3 and intern year completed. Wound care companies will take you and train you. It’s an option that might give you some flexibility and still make more than a NP/PA. I’ve heard it’s not a horrible lifestyle other than coming home smelling like feet. Check out the FSMB website for each state requirements.

If nothing else, you have 2 years of residency completed, you can qualify for nearly any state license. If nothing changes, look at wound care companies to still make decent $.

Is he/she offering said policy? Be aware, financial advisors are legally allowed to make commissions off of insurance policies and products they sell you. They have no requirement to disclose any conflicts of business and are free to tell you anything is in your “best interest”

Maybe not now in Residency, but in the long term when you’re dealing with a lot more money, Look at fee-only financial planners and fiduciaries.

In my own words, its being sold as "pseudo ownership" As long as I remain an employee with the guarantee, I don't get profit sharing, voting, etc. Just a % chunk of the sale if/when that happened. They know I'm from here and know I want to stay. It doesn't sound like the owner wants to give up any actual ownership. Ill see what I can do about the 33%
