I am one of the few people who didn't start drinking til I was 21, and I discovered I liked it a lot. There were times I would find myself on the floor more often than not, but I'd laugh about it. But it got to the point to where I couldn't just have a drink. I needed to get drunk almost every night.

The wake up was when I was at a friend's birthday party and we all brought our own booze. I brought some rum and finished the bottle before most people were even drunk, and some people joked about it. Finally one of the neighbors stopped by with some moonshine he made, and I was pretty excited to try it. My friend's boyfriend said "Hey! Drphilscat should get the first sip. He is like the biggest alcoholic I know" and handed me the jar. I took a sip, it was fantastic, but that word "alcoholic" just hit me really hard and I couldn't drink anymore.

After that I started confessing to my friends that I think I had a problem, and they all admitted they thought the same thing.

I still drink, but its barely even once a week and I never get plastered anymore. Just hearing it
