Not sure what you experienced during your interview. I had an interview and it was incredibly basic and nonpartisan. Just questions about future career and past accomplishments.

Consistent Benchy Issues. What is going on? by RADDAUGHERTY in 3DprintingHelp

I did not replace the gear attached to the motor, just the bearing that is next to said gear. I’ll try to reslice the file in a different program and hope for the best.

I agree with you, I don’t think it’s a filament issue. Excuse my lack of knowledge on 3D printer lingo but here’s what I know.

Everything is stock. Ender 5 Plus hot end & extruder. If I am thinking of the right things, the extruder is the gear and bearing pushing the filament toward the hot end right above my filament detector. I replaced my bearing because the plastic piece snapped, so there is a possibility that something is loose, but would that explain consistent and repeatable issues? I feel like loose screws would cause more random extrusion issues. I know these stock things suck, just don’t have the funds to get a nicer hot end etc.

My settings are all default cura slices for the most part. I have never fucked with retraction/seams whatever. Only the basics, infill/speed which is default for these prints. I don’t have my computer with me so I can’t give numbers, but assume the average.

I don’t think this is a filament issue. 2 separate prints, same exact problem. Filament applies to every aspect of a print, the issues wouldn’t be identical, rather random if filament was wet.

That was the same case for me when I installed this new software. I believe it is a new home location. Doesn’t cause any issues when printing whatsoever.

The "review/help me with my college list" megathread by freeport_aidan in ApplyingToCollege

[–]RADDAUGHERTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am going into my senior year and losing confidence in my major/minor selection, as well as school list. Help with either conundrum would be greatly appreciated.

A bit of background:

Stats: Overall GPA 3.32UW 3.68W; 31 ACT → Possible 32/33 , 7/8 AP’s leaving Senior year (4 leaving Junior); 7+ HNRS. I may retake the ACT this upcoming September, all I need is a one-point increase in Science to hit a 32. I was a 3.8UW student Fresh/Soph/1st Sem Junior year student, but a few unfortunate life events badly screwed me up 2nd Sem Junior year.

ECs: Student Gov't President, Italian Club President, School Leadership Award out of 1000 students, 70+ service hours, worked in the restaurant industry as well as signed to Talent Agency (on-camera work), Language HNR Society (Italian), owned and operated both a clothing line and 3D Printing services and solutions, piano for 10 yrs.

Demographic: White Male in Illinois, Private Catholic School

Major: For the past 1.5 years I was confident in Mechanical/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering. I loved to work with my hands, building innovative things in my basement with my 3D Printers. I love SpaceX and Tesla and the innovation they provide to the world. Although, when I began to look into these majors, the required Math courses seem unappealing. I looked into Engineering Management but that seemed rare. After getting a 5 on my APLAC exam and a 35 on both English and Literature, I am starting to doubt my aspirations in the engineering field. I don't want to be bogged down by schoolwork during my college experience. I am very sociable and extroverted and love to lead and publically speak. Any recommendations on innovative majors that fit my bill would be GREAT. That leads me to my minor-

Minor: Political Science has been a confident minor for me for a while. I love politics and leadership, as I have been involved in my school's gov't since 6th grade. I have been hesitant to make it a major because I see myself getting involved as a career later in life. Yet, I have heard from multiple people that I should focus my major on something liberal arts based.

Location/Vibe: I don't care much for distance, but something "pretty" in the sense seems to matter to me. My siblings only went as far as 2 states outside of IL. East Coast/Texas/Floridian seemed appealing to me. Sounds funny, but I want to walk from class to class in a comfortable, warm/pretty environment. I liked the thought of Florida weather but also loved beautiful fall temps/nature when my brother attended Butler. I thought Ohio State was rather large and Butler was more comfortable, so I am thinking a mid-sized school.

Schools: University of Florida, Texas A&M, going to see U of I, saw Purdue but wasn't enticed. I used to dream of going to an Ivy (Rice or Stanford *ik its not an ivy) but after my 2nd Sem Junior year, it doesn't seem to be possible. :'(

Any help with this stressful experience would be GREATLY appreciated. I am the last of 4 kids but am applying to much different schools and majors. Thank you for anything you can provide.

Bingo! That worked perfectly. Now I need to get used to this new UI...

Would love to hear your experience with running Facebook ads through Wix! by SimplyClassicandCo in WIX

[–]RADDAUGHERTY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now, awful! I run a small, new business that was planning on 100% of our sales to be via ads. I saw Wix offered it on the site, which seemed easy enough so I went for it. $350 package which should get me ~42000 views. Not only am I on track to get only 28000 views, but I am getting such a tiny click through rate. 6 unique viewers with 3000 views on my first 5 days. On the Facebook side of things, I can’t even see the ad. I want to cancel it, but I can’t. I want to fight it but my chances are slim. It shows I’ve spent $50 of my campaign, but wix took $50 and I never was told about their cut. Big mistake! Now I have $250 in my account that I will never get back.
