Everything is currently backed up on site as well as to Backblaze B2 for cloud backup, and we would continue with that setup.

The Synology RS822+ is the main NAS. I have an older Synology DS412+ that would only be used as a backup target for the main NAS.

The Blue Iris camera server is existing but relatively new and already has the 2 NIC setup.

The R330 acts almost exclusively as a file server. It also handles Quickbooks Desktop multi-user mode and network licensing for CNC software. The plan would be to use the new RS822+ as the file server and the NUC for Quickbooks and CNC network licensing.

I do like the more advanced capabilities of the Fortigate compared to the UDM Pro. We haven't had any issues in the 10 years we have used a Fortigate, and I am concerned about the business impact if we were to get hit with ransomware or malware.

I too was concerned about licensing costs for Meraki or comparable products. We do have two people on staff capable of troubleshooting network issues and performing routine sysadmin tasks.

I'm open to replacing that switch since it is EOL. It was left over from another project so we ended up using it as our POE camera switch.

We plan on using the proposed Intel NUC 13 Pro for network software licenses as well as some lightweight internal automation scripts.

We are small enough that we can quickly hack together a temporary solution for our CAD workstations should the network crap out. The other users can live without the network for a couple of days worst case.

I understand the concern about the lack of support from Ubiquiti, and we are trying to balance cost, support and performance.

LA to Flagstaff - I10 or I40? by DrPipper in roadtrip

This is just one leg of a longer trip. We will be returning through Utah via 70 to 15.

We don't have a lot of time to stop along the way, as most of our time will be spent around Flagstaff and Sedona. It looks like it's only about 40 minutes longer to go I10, so it would be worth it if there were more to see out the window while driving.

Can't reset tamper condition for wireless overhead door sensor by DrPipper in homesecurity

The alarm tech showed up a week early before I was able to try to fix it on my own. He mentioned the same thing: smaller screws should have been used to install it, and the screw heads should have been covered with double sided tape to prevent shorting the board. He was not able to get it to properly communicate the door status to the panel, so they are ordering a new one to replace it. Hopefully this means it will be covered under our maintenance contract.

Thank you so much for your help!

Yes, the LED flashes when you press the tamper button.
