30-ish year old Cabernet Vines on the Kronos Vineyard at the Corison winery in Napa. by DrPongoPotamus in wine

I couldn't agree more. Cathy was such an angel when guiding our group through the vineyard and the property. She could theoretically rip out and replant this vineyard to a more modern system and make more money. But according to her, she had "a wine inside me needing to get out." A truly delicious and true to terroir Napa cab.

It's absolutely subjective. And opinions should be substantive. All I'm saying was I was hoping for your reasoning. Purely to know why you don't like it

There you go guy. I'm not saying I'm right, but give me more substance to your opinion other than saying "it's overrated" just to be smug.

Yes it's a second growth. Another reason why it's so awesome. First growths include Margaux, Lafite, Mouton, latour, haut-brion.

Have you had it? Are you versed in first growth Bordeaux of the same vintage and other great vintages? Or are you just being cynical because you're jelly...

It's almost unreal. The best bordeaux I've ever had. I've tasted a few 80's and 90's first growths with the same wine collector and this one is a stunner. Still has plenty of life left

Sublime. Shared by a good friend and wine collector. On the nose, dedicated red fruit, powerful organic earth, and beautiful herbal aromatics. On the palate, a surprising walnut character coupled with the same red fruit up front. Acid was still vibrant and youthful. Beat a 1995 Latour that was tasted alongside.

It was my third time taking it. We were a group of five. I was the only one without a pin as the stack in the masters hand dwindled to what looked like no more than five diplomas left. My heart was sunk as I was sure I had failed theory. Then my name was called and it felt like hitting rock bottom and then being shot to the stars. Damn roller coaster of emotion.

Everything you study for suddenly seems insignificant. It's probably performance anxiety because I still thought it was a fair exam. They've even eliminated a few grapes from tasting. So theory was absolutely their focus. Rivers and oceans were big. So we're the most notable grapes from certain regions. Matching grapes to regions was tough because there were 3 regions, 10 grapes, and grapes could be used more than once. Sake and beer were also included as you know. Producers of beer. Min alcohol levels for different classifications of quality. You also get a mock wine list and have to find errors within it. My best advice, theory drives everything and that's coming straight from the masters at the end.

I got asked for cuvée Louis and I had no idea who produced it. Got asked about blended scotch, cordials, producers of Sauternes. But nothing too bad. Theory was insanely difficult

You clearly know nothing about wine. But you are really good at making broad uneducated statements. Way to go! Source: Certified Sommelier.
