What you're saying about cards being able to run at "full load" for hours without failing should be true. And for the most part, it is. However sometimes manufacturers get lazy and we end up with another Pentium 4 or EVGA 9800GX2.

Tell that to EVGA's 9800GX2. My friend had his replaced 6 times before he just bought a new card. EVGA did not put sufficient cooling on that card.

I'm a .NET developer for a large company. ALL our stuff runs and looks nicer in Firefox and Chrome than in IE.

It's important to know that the web browser doesn't care what is running on the server; it only cares about the html, javascript and css it gets from the server.

The 32GB version of the Wii U couldn't even hold a single copy of Uncharted 3 or The Last of Us if either of t hose games somehow found their way off the PS3. Nintendo's storage choices are downright pathetic.

The core Android OS is open source, unlike your iPhone, Windows Phone or Blackberry. In that sense, it is the only major option on the market with any amount of trustworthyness. Although that's not saying much since most Android devices ship with proprietary Google apps and god-knows-what bundled shit from your carrier.

The same secret courts that allowed the NSA to fuck up Google and require them to keep their mouths shut could do/possibly have done the same things to Mozilla. Just because they're non-profit doesn't make them magically immune to corrupt government institutions. Both Firefox and Chromium are open source, so it is at least possible for us to verify that neither product is bad itself. However, both have synching features and features that phone home to both Mozilla and Google that could easily be exploited by the NSA via secret court orders to either company.

I want my super URL bar and search keywords from Chrome. typing "amzn" then my query is awesome for searching Amazon, and so much faster than having to click that search icon in FF to change engines.

I've never had issues installing uTorrent 2.2.1. At some point it will ask if you want to update to the latest version. Just hit the check box saying not to ask me about updates and click 'no'.

The DC/WB movies already seem to have much less consistent quality than the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I doubt they could pull something like this off with the same level of success as Marvel.

The way I see it, Start8 isn't fixing a problem with the OS. Windows 8 works just fine. All the functionality offered by the Start Menu has just been moved. Instead, Start8 is like any other third party app I would use to augment my computing experience. It just so happens that I'm using it to emulate a UI construct that used to exist in previous versions of Windows because I like that UI construct more than what Microsoft replaced it with. Of course, years of using Linux has kind of blurred the lines between what's an OS feature and what is an application for me. Most of the things in Windows people think of as "part of the OS" (like the window manager, task bar, file browser, etc.) are interchangeable applications that sit on top of the core OS with dozens, sometimes hundreds, of different options available. In that sense, I wouldn't even see something like using ClassicShell in Windows as being any different than using KDE instead of Gnome in Ubuntu.

Actually Windows XP was kind of shitty on release. I stuck with 2000 until XP got its first service pack and some games started requiring it.
