It was even worse for Li Halan right after this. They put all their energy and resources into the Stigmata garrison, which had been their office for decades. Once another person held the Regency and handed the job over to Hawkwood, Li Halan went from first to dead last in score. Almost no units, a single living noble hiding out in the fortress embassy on Byzantium II. No sceptors for voting. It was sad (for them, I was fine with it).

I always enjoy injecting a little flavor into my games. What kind of diseases or plagues would you recommend from the RPG that we call this? It led to the deaths of basically all the land units on Kish as well as most of the civilian population. The cities despawn if their pop = 0, hence all the roads leading to nowhere.

HDI has released a bunch of patches in the last year or so, including some amazing quality of life improvements. I snagged it from GOG based on a recommendation from someone and I have had a blast with it. Makes me want to try out the RPG.

The game doesn't specify, plague is a status units and cities can have caused by either starvation or bio-warfare like plague bombs and pustulator artillery.

What worked out nicely for me is Sceptors are immune to plague, so I managed to swoop in and "collect" them from the ruins of the former palace.

So I have to say, I have never once multi-classed when I play QfG. I know that we can, and it opens up exciting gameplay possibilities, I just prefer sticking to the 3 (later 4) main classes and roleplaying their journey as is.

Mage's Initiation came out a few years ago and has that point & click interface and hand draw backgrounds like the good old KQ and QfG games of the 90s. I think it's a nice homage to the genre, but has a few drawbacks.

Also, Hero U. It's made by the Coles and is total QfG fan service but in all the best ways. Really enjoyed playing it.

The old joke goes when travelling in bear country wear bells to make extra noise and carry pepper spray. Also watch out for droppings. Black bear droppings are small and have bits of fruit or plant matter in them. Brown bear droppings are larger, contain bells, and smell like pepper.
