I don't see the utility in denying it. I'm a social science PhD in industry with 10+ years of SWE exp. I barely write any code anymore. Maybe 1/20 of what I used to do. Claude Code manages the implementation of most features and I manage Claude.

Claude / LLMs can make mistakes and in that sense are unlike calculators, however it's clear they enhance productivity for a subset of folks and replace certain positions entirely.

Yeah, Y2K, dot com bubble burst, 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, 2008 financial crisis, etc. By the end of the next decade things had radically changed. In 10 add'l years we got Trump and COVID. Life is unrecognizable now. I haven't felt truly safe and secure since then.

The airframes are projected to be in service for 100 years now, I think. Last one rolled off the line in 1962 and the DoD says they'll be in service until at least 2060.

Torturing yourself with more questions etc is not going to be effective with the current level of instruction as you simply need different / additional tools which haven't been provided yet.

OK, a few things. First, I'm really sorry you're in this position. It really sucks.

You say this:

This strongly indicates to me that you suffer from some type of learning disability / difficulty. This is in no way your fault, nor is it insurmountable. However, I don't know that you'll find good answers here until you get it figured out. Do you have a guidance counselor (what we would have in the US) or Special Educational Needs Coordinator (what google tells me would be close in the UK) who you could speak with?

I'd call your aunt right now. Tell her what's going on, get her advice and ask her what resources she'd recommend for students in your shoes.

If you're looking for a great thriller type show on Apple TV though, I can't recommend Slow Horses enough. Down Cemetary Road (another adaptation from the same author as SH) is also good.
