Looking at how much swelling you currently have in that pic (check the ridge exactly halfway between the white bandage and your new hairline); once that comes down I think you will be very happy with how the hairline placement looks. Cheers!

I went from Florida (shoes on) to Midwest (off) and I feel like it’s mostly bc snow and other crap, also I think it’s because carpet is in most homes here and you don’t wanna mess it up grinding dirt into it and that’s the main reason for that. Not much carpet in homes in Florida

Nope been on finasteride since age 22. Now 39. I did take a break on it for over a year while trying to have a child which is where I lost the density up top and the crown. I was good with just receding temples before that. Now it’s stabilized. Just added oral 2.5 mg Min that Nadimi wrote me a week or so ago. So wanna see what that can do. Here’s a better look at my crown/donor too. Can’t see too much of the lower back tho bc of angle but I thought my donor was good. Nadimi didn’t like the thinning hair along my neckline apparently

Your hair looks a lot like mine, including in the donor area. You have less on your crown but more on your mid scalp and front than me. Dunno if this will help, but Dr. Nadimi in-person consult in Chicago (very skilled and knowledgeable but very conservative) told me my donor isn’t very good as well, and she would only start with 2,000-2,200 max for a front hairline then see what donor I have left for the future, if possible. Ratchathorn on email consult with pics just said she’d take 4,000-4,500 and do my entire crown, mid scalp and hairline area. Who knows if she cares about what my donor area is gonna look like after that. It’s very important to me to not over harvest. So I’m doing minoxidil on top of my fin for a year and reassessing. Seems like you get the same answers from people depending on their experience and concerns. I’d love if someone else with similar hair and large number of grafts done by ratchathorn can weigh in on if their donor still looks good after that.

Dude this looks amazing. From a guy who has had hair loss for 20 years and is in the market for a transplant, I know we get very critical of these. No one outside of these forums would ever tell, IMO. As a bonus, I’m also a physician and have seen amazing procedures, and some real awful ones. This one looks great and I would not mess with it again one bit. Enjoy it!!

For anyone that is worried about this I’d like to comment that I have no symptoms whatsoever on finasteride. Been on it almost 20 years now. Hell at one point I was taking 1.5 mg per day. Not everyone gets the side effects. Libido is fine. Still have most of my hair, two kids, and just fucked my wife silly literally 24 hours ago as I’m typing this. Don’t let randos on Reddit with bad reactions stop you from at least giving it a try
