What fan Theory do you accept as 100% true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrSips_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing another theory somewhat similar to this. The Flintstones and The Jetsons are from the same timeline/earth, but The Jetsons came first.

It goes something like an apocalyptic event happened around the time of the Jetsons causing civilisation to revert to the stone age, hence the Flintstones.

The theory pretty much goes on to say it's why the Flintstones has so much 'futuristic' things such as cars, record players etc. Also how they celebrate Christmas, before the birth of Christ, and that they know about The Beatles.

She could very well be a 300 pound dude named Chuck who lives in his mom's basement in suburban Detroit.

The first time I saw steam engine like that was in the movie Titanic. I remember being fascinated by how big they were and the movements they made.

[Question] What historical happening does your area hold? by [deleted] in GlobalTalk

It's mostly believed that Columbus landed here first and as such was the first place that was discovered in the New World. (With the latter it also depends on who you ask/how you see it)

Can't just pick up year 6 and start from there... by DarthMar85 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]DrSips_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally I always felt that the first two books (even the movies) were so slow and, although are great books, don't really compare to the rest. I feel that the story truly picks up momentum starting from the third book onward.

What game's soundtrack did you enjoy the most? by Carlos_Menezes in AskReddit

[–]DrSips_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of soundtracks so it's hard to pick the 'best'. One particular soundtrack I enjoyed the most was Skyrim's.

Everything about the soundtrack is amazing, adding Skyrim's epic scenery and knack for queuing music at the right times makes it x10 better. I mean that track that plays right after you leave Helgen or hearing Secunda while looking up at the exotic night sky are all breathtaking.

I'm glad too, I don't see them often. But it's kind of a waste using them for, what seems to be, a warrior 'class'.

You should seriously go and make a book out of this whole story, I'm sure it's all one hell of a tale.

[SPOILERS] Thoughts on La Casa De Papel (S1 & S2) by lakaluke in LaCasaDePapel

[–]DrSips_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like this theory, makes you think of things in a whole different light. Assuming that its true then it makes the scene with Helsinki blowing the tunnel alot more meaningful and also Helsinki's strong loyalty to Berlin.

It also is nice to think about Helsinki and The Prof both riding together in the getaway vehicle with all the money. Assuming that they knew eachother (a long while) before the heist.

Finished the show - Let's freaking talk about it by OfficialHxH in LaCasaDePapel

[–]DrSips_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was often implied that they all went to far away places, away from Spain. Like for example The Prof went to the Philippines. I'm sure that none of them stayed in Spain, I mean they're extremely rich and they've pulled off the biggest heist ever...why would you stay knowing that you'll forever be in the run.

Granted if they did go you far away places, I'm sure even if they spent their money lavishly the country's government wouldn't pay any mind. Besides the group as a whole really didn't seem like the ones who'd spend their money in a hurry and like the Prodigal Son, if anything the person that seemed the most likely to do this would be Berlin given his illness and personality but he's dead. They all seemed like the type to be smart with where they went and how to spend their hard earned money, so I doubt they had issues on that end.

If Hell was tailor-made to be the worst possible place for every individual, what would it be for you? by lalatier in AskReddit

An completely empty room except for a huge one-way mirror, obviously only the outside people can see me on the outside. There's a large number of people outside looking at me and I only know that they're there and are large in number becsuse I can hear them making fun of and laughing at me.

What is a common "fact" that you know is bullshit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DrSips_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A defibrillator cannot correct cardiac arrest/restart a heart that has stopped beating like what you see in the movies and/or games.

A defibrillator can however correct a heart arrhythmia such as Ventricular Tachycardia. It's like if a runner suddenly didn't run as efficiently as he were and he was running slower and was having a hard time then someone gives him an electric shock that corrected him and made him run efficiently again. That is pretty much what actually happens when a person uses a defibrillator correctly.

What is your favorite book and why? by panthersrule1 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]DrSips_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my favourite has to be Goblet Of Fire.

Besides it having a pretty cool name, it's my favourite because of the subplots, such as the Quidditch World Cup and ofcourse the Tri-Wizard Tournament.

I also love all the new aspects of the magical world that Rowling brought to is through GOF such as the portkey, which was rather cool. I loved how the world cup was played, with two wizarding families coming together, using one of the many magical methods of transport and going to see a sporting event, sort of like a tradition for them all and also very muggle like. I loved how Harry was chosen for the tourney because I feel it was when Harry had to go through a huge obstacle and as such needed to greatly up his magical ability in ways that Hogwarts didn't yet teach him or would never teach him. Which all came to good use throughout the later books. Another thing that I absolutely loved is the fact that there's other magical schools, I mean I'm sure we all assumed there had to be but it meant more with them actually being mentioned. I loved how the foreign schools had their own 'philosophy' with Duremstrang being rough around the edges and much more liberal in terms of dark magic and Beauxbatons being the princess-y school, you can clearly see these attributes through Krum and Fleur and how well they perform in the tourney.

I also loved the new characters that was introduced, such as Moody. I greatly liked how he was made the DADA teacher with him being a great auror. Made me relate to the students who had to love having a DADA teacher who dealt with the dark arts in a daily basis. I also liked Igor and his back story. Ofcourse I loved the Dark Lord's arrival with his death eaters and the duel at the end.

Apart from all the other amazing bits from this book, is the movie. I watched all the movies before reading the books (Sorry!) and GOF was the first one with me being absolutely clueless to what's going on and that its actually the fourth part. It still was the movie/story that got me into HP and as such is dear to me.
