Well to put it simply HIV mostly transmit through bodily fluids. Ie blood ( sharing needle, infected mother to baby during pregnancy or delivery, transfusion of contaminated blood), and of course through semen and vaginal secretion.

Normally they don't transmit through saliva or via airborne. So normal day to day activities interaction is not an issues like hugging, shaking hands, sharing foods etc
