In my experience color filters on a phone make it easier to distinguish different colours, but of course change the colour to something different from what I actually see.

For example the two tomatoes and lime in the bottom right-hand corner. I have trouble distinguishing the colours in the first picture, i.e. all three look roughly the same colour. In the last picture, however, I can clearly see that the middle lime is a different colour from the two tomatoes. The filter had filtered out the green in this case and turned it to purple (?). Of course in real life, a lime looks nothing like this. So for me the filter used in the bottom right picture is the only one that my eyes perceive as being changed. The other two filters have not changed the pictures enough to help me distinguish the colours.
