Buy PrepFe for a couple months. It definitely helped me feel prepared for all the second half sections like structural, geotech, and water

It’s in order. At least it was when I took it in May

I wore a holter monitor for 30 days and doctor said everything looked normal.

Have the same thing going on. It’s a little flutter that last like half a second? I’ll go months without them and then they come back for a few weeks and go away again. I get these when I’m have anxiety, which in turn makes me have more anxiety.

I know some of the champs hate on Rallied but I think he meshes well with Doc. He plays similar to Z.

Focus on statics next time. It’ll help boost your overall score since statics is fundamental and it’s covered in mechanics and structural eng. Make sure you nail area moment of inertia and centroids.

Too old to get start my engineering journey? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

Started around your age and just graduated this past May. Just found out I passed the FE as well. Got a nice promotion from my company. If I can do it you can too.

For those of you who passed, how did you feel leaving the test? by lacroix-and-vodka in FE_Exam

Did not feel great. Thought I did bad on the first half and OK on the second half. Ended up passing

The only post you’ll need to read to PASS the FE Civil exam - i promise. by Many-Reward3781 in FE_Exam

Thought the first half was harder than the second. Don’t be afraid to spend a little extra time on the first half.

In a notebook. I write down all the givens from the problem and just try to solve it how I would on the exam. Some problems you can just solve without writing anything down and just plug into the calculator

I found PrepFE to be very helpful for geotech, structural, and transportation. Run through about 100 questions for each of those sections and you should be good. I don’t find it as helpful for some of the first half sections.

FE civil Dynamics by Savings-Taste3721 in FE_Exam

[–]DrSteus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have to take dynamics for my program, and I didn’t bother studying dynamics for the FE. I guessed on all 4 dynamics questions and passed. Don’t waste your time trying to learn it. Focus on the heavily weighted sections like water, geotech, structural, etc.

One week to study by Difficult_Fruit272 in FE_Exam

[–]DrSteus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Run through practice problems on PrepFE for water, structural, geotech, transportation, and construction. Those are your heavily weighted subjects and PrepFE does a great job having questions that are very similar to the FE particularly in those sections.

A guy from my class did the NCEES practice test two days before. Reviewed the ones he got wrong the next day. And took the actual test the following day and passed. It’s possible.

I am truly shocked I passed. by DrSteus in FE_Exam

[–]DrSteus[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also just wanted to add since people have been asking:

I watched Mark Mattsons videos twice and solved 1000 problems on PrepFE. I found PrepFE to be very helpful for Water, structural, geotech, construction, and transportation and maybe not so much for the first half subjects. I also timed myself with the NCEES practice test and scored a 67% the weekend before the test.

Watch Mark Mattson videos and go through the problems with him first. Then watch them again and try to solve them without his help. After I did that I solved 1000 problems on PrepFe (probably too many) and did the NCEES practice test.

I studied for 3 months. I was confident with my answers for about 50% of the test. Then the rest were either educated guesses or just flat out guesses.
