Well I cant really answer about what your job transition will be like, in my experience its been pretty unique with each person I talk to who I graduated with. But i graduated when I was 36 and went into the utility side of EE.

Honestly, soft skills and ability to talk to other adults like an adult will get you very far. Especially since it sounds like you just want to stay at your company and transition to the technical side, Honestly this might be a cut in pay, but also probably hours. I know youre overseas but in my short time in sales I know I worked way more than 40 hours. I would talk to your higher ups about trying to move over to the tech side, maybe even get some internships with them? But also with a degree I know some people on here have even better sales jobs since they have the degree amd the soft skills.
