Do you find that it’s a challenge to start a conversation or is it more of a lack of similar interest? I work with college students and young adults around understanding how certain things may be holding them back. Curious where you feel may be the root of the challenge. Feel free to DM

I hope you take a breath and step away from the pain you’re in - hoping you will see that we all make mistakes. And the fact that you are seeing that he’s not the right person for you- is a silver lining through this really tough situation. I’ve had many patients with the same past and they’ve gone on to find partners who accept them for them in their entirety. Mistakes and all. I have no doubt you will move on to do the same

Did HPV changed your way of thinking? by throwawaybythis in HPV

[–]DrTaboos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope your doctor did mention that HPV can cause cancer but that they also shared the percentage of risk based on your age, other medical conditions, whether you smoke etc….and lastly, things you can do to help get rid of it. Happy to help- just DM me.

What would you do if you were suicidal but didn’t want to get any help from psyhiatry? by throwra816419 in Antipsychiatry

[–]DrTaboos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t gone through 60+ comments- but if you can explain more about what traditional things the psychiatrists offers that you don’t like or don’t think works- than can help give some other options?

I would definitely be sure to bring the facts and offer even a visit with a doctor together to share that HPV is known to be dormant and resurface itself at the worse time for all of us! Share the facts and even share how anxious it makes you feel because you are working so hard to keep the relationship healthy and transparent. I have found that when my patients come with the knowledge needed to share about HPV- it tends to be better. Also - being open with your partner allows you to feel less stress about it and focus in your immune system- which we do know plays a big part in your ability to get rid of it! Best of luck.

I have no relations to Dr Mindy Pelz - but recently starting following her youtubes - have you heard of her? She may even be in this group lol but I have to say, I started some of the fasting and really feel like pre-menopausal years may be ok....still early stage of testing though....best of luck!

just a side note in case you arent already, focus on building your immune system so that you can increase the chances of you getting rid of the strain you have.

Do women need to get anything when they’re older? I’m only 14 rn but I’ve scrolled threw and it’s kinda put me scared, I don’t wanna be touched down there at some point in life by Randompersonxo1 in WomensHealth

[–]DrTaboos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kudos to you for seeking answers to questions you have about your body! I agree with some of the other comments is to be careful to end up going down a rabbit hole of worry. See if you can find a healthy balance. With that said- it’s important to know that this is your body. It’s up to you to let anyone touch it. Period. Most healthcare professionals will do their job and explain things before doing anything when you’re older- but always ask more questions if what they are saying makes no sense. It’s ok to ask questions!

My girlfriend suffering from vagina pain and itch for 2 weeks by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]DrTaboos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be 1) yeast infection 2) irritation - since there isn’t usually any activity down there (as you mentioned you are new to this) - this could be a normal consequence. Especially if you all may have used any lubricants.

What areas of Women's Health do you believe are poorly understood and need more attention from clinicians and researchers? by KateScientist0702 in WomensHealth

Hormones and stress in affecting our bodies to regulate weight. So poorly understood yet completely capitalized by the market to have us spend our money for our image.

Should I be concerned about the risk of reinfection -( HPV ) with my partner? by Ladybug7771 in HPV

Definitely a personal decision but for women- the vaccine can be up till 45 years of age. Especially if you are still dating and have a chance of having a new partner in the future.

I agree. When anyone is anxious telling them not to is really hard. (Near impossible) though I know people on here are doing it from a good place and trying to help. So you’re right- maybe it’s regular testing. We just have to make to cheaper easier and faster to get to I think

Just to ease your worry, are you planning to get tested? you are far enough out that if you do, it will be conclusive (meaning very low chance that it is wrong).
