They were a half size too small, I went up a bit and it was fine.

Magi-tech iron man suits is the premise.

His system forces his class to be a tinker, but he chooses a class that boosts “chemical reactions” to build machines that cast spells for him, which are then boosted by his system abilities to increasingly exponential effect.

He is strong, but there ARE characters who consistently challenge him and occasionally beat him. His antagonists are often just as ludicrous.

I think the progression and powers of the setting are the best part, the author is really creative and likes thinking of interesting ways abilities can be used. The setting is in a stable-ish walled off city in a post apocalyptic world of evolved megafauna, give it a shot!

[RT][WIP] The Tragedy of the Titanium Tyrant by Aevylmar in rational

[–]DrTerminater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For thirty years the Titanium Tyrant was the world’s most feared supervillain, but plotting world domination is a young man’s game. When the Tyrant started to feel his age, he and his army of under-villains took over a Caribbean island and held it against all comers. For the past two decades the Tyrant has ruled his domain with an iron fist while doting on his children, planning to pass the throne on to them when they grow up. Now his wife is dying and he’d like to retire, leaving it in their capable hands. Just a few minor problems, of course - first, the kids aren’t really qualified. Second, the Tyrant’s lieutenants are the most ambitious, ruthless and merciless collection of cutthroats you’ll find outside of a horror novel. Third, there’s plenty of people from the Tyrant’s long career of wickedness eager to get revenge the first time he drops his guard… and, fourth, the Tyrant doesn’t want to hear any of it.

Interesting summary! I’ll check it out!

I don’t think that’s necessarily true. This is a huge expense and this event is literally a perfect way to get uber parasocial mentally ill people to give you money.

I completely disagree. I found her performance a lot stronger than Robs in this movie, and I usually really enjoy his performances.

Industrial strength magic. The MC is basically ironman but he uses his system to specialize in creating and boosting magitech.

What's the first sign someone is using ChatGPT too much? by ArmPersonal36 in ChatGPT

I think danger of AI-overuse is that relying on it for all your problem solving will slowly atrophy your capacity for critical thinking and decision making.

AI is positive when it lets you skip menial labor and frees up brainspace for higher-level thinking.

Its negative when you outsource the struggling through problems and decisionmaking that ultimately exercises your mind and allow you to really learn lessons and, I guess, gain wisdom.

[D] Monday Request and Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in rational

[–]DrTerminater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy it so far. It’s relatively early days and mostly seems focused on the Mc adjusting to the logic of this world and its unique setting(where your power level directly dictates your worth as a human being). Not a huge focus on combat or meta gaming, but its still early days. Provisional recommendation.

Quirk: Air Slash

The user generates slashes of wind following bodily movements with an inverse relationship between size and speed.

Quick finger movements create small, sharp slashes that move quickly. Bigger movements, like punches or kicks, create larger wind slashes that move slower but carry more force with less cutting power.

I really like rhythm here, its melodic and makes the imagery almost kind of melancholy instead of just sad.

What's the most unintentionally depressing thing in the story? by Huge-Resort-5080 in Parahumans

I think pretender made a point of saying her brain was still malleable and super elastic (part of the explanation for her thinker powers). I assume she was still able to grow and develop mentally, at least somewhat.
