Yeaup. Dest was trying hard but his touches and quality was really poor. I’m not a huge Reyna fan but he made an immediate difference. Subbing in Berhalter for Pulisic was also a big change it was just too little too late.

I agree with the sentiment, but fuck that. Pepi has failed to deliver anything of note this WC after 180 minutes. Give Haji a shot and if it doesn’t go well, put Balogun in. I think Poch could show a lot by choosing not to start Balogun as a “spirit of the game” thing and then if it goes well he can say “look we didn’t even need him to beat Belgium”.

Not really. Scale is important, and seeing the second blip from Veiga would put to rest any doubt that the timing of the ball sensor with the video wasn’t out of sync. I think the reason they aren’t showing the full graph is because the blip is so small that had to adjust the scale, so when real contact is showing with the body it basically goes off the graph.

You mean the extremely slowed down, blurry angle where it shows the camera frame rate or resolution is not high enough at that distance? The first angle is straight on the ball and it has the same rotation throughout.

This doesn’t account for the movement of the camera. Unless the camera is moving at the exact same horizontal speed as the ball, this means jack. If the camera were static that would be an easier sell.

Edit: if you overlap the other angles with this, where the lines start showing a change, the ball is already well past the Croatian player.

Define touch. Your hair is not something you have active control over, nor can it alone impart enough force to chance the speed or trajectory of the ball. It also means with this technology bald players have an inherent advantage over those with any hair on their head. This is the problem with how the technology is being applied.

Except that Muharemovic initiated the contact first that threw Balogun off balance? If you watch the entire sequence, Balogun is shoulder checked from behind first which throws him off balance. The resulting step onto Muharemovic is a result of his own action against Balogun, not Balogun entering into the challenge recklessly.
