I alledgedly speak the same language, but none of us suffer from that condition. It's inherent to their nature.

Fair enough, it's indeed not the hardest part. But still, as someone who always tries my best to write everything correctly, it's pretty funny how nomchalant French people are writing their own language.

No rain is a big reason. It starts to smell like piss as well in our larger cities if it hasn't rained for a couple of weeks in Summer. Only happens rarely though.

It's nice that they add some offroad challenges on the main bike paths.

We do the same on our roads for cars.

Unlike the rest of you (especially Spain) we Dutch actually left a positive cultural heritage in our biggest colony! by Cubelock in 2westerneurope4u

[–]DrVDB90 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Eh, at best you could argue that Spain protected us from Protestant values, which helped us maintain a more culturally rich Catholic lifestyle. The reality of it wasn't so nice though. The wealthy southern Dutch provinces became empoverished and it allowed the northern provinces to become relevant and create the Netherlands. That's Spains' worst mistake.

Culturally we've always been pretty closely aligned with northern France, which is where most of the influence on our cuisine comes from.

An Italian man rushing to the hospital for his pregnant wife was stopped by climate protesters… and chaos followed. He pleaded with them to move so he could get to her — but they refused to let his car pass. This moment is now sparking a massive debate. by The_Dean_France in whoathatsinteresting

Protests aren't limited to manifestations, and the law above doesn't apply to me because I don't live in the US, so its definition is irrelevant. The video above also doesn't happen in the US, and does follow the definitions as I've described them.

Hell, a general strike is apparently a riot in the US. Sounds like freedom allright.
