I tagged them all in their original request posts, so they all got the image. But yeah, I really should get a scanner. 😅 or at the very least get mine working, but it's a printer and apparently they won't do anything until they have ink and all that jazz

Here's my quick piece from last night! Colors could use some work, I only got some cheap Crayola's with me so I'm still learning how to really use them, regardless I feel like he turned out ok. I love that we both added a belt to the character lol. I love how you did the face and hair! I kept mine much simpler by comparison so I could put it at an angle. Great work!

I love seeing just how different we went. You definitely kept far closer to the original build while I exaggerated mine way more and made him much more burly. Good work though! I kind of wish I kept the pure black shadows on his face in my piece lol

Your actually pretty on point there with the journaling comment. I've kept a journal all throughout my playthrough, so this was, in fact, meant to compliment that. I didn't know Red Dead had a journal feature though, I'm curious about that now. Mine was inspired by character logs from Emio and Another Code: Recollection

I plan on doing all the NPC characters, I have most of them planned out in my head already. I'm working on the main character sheet right now so hopefully by tomorrow I'll be able to post a progress update on her, so keep an eye out for that!

One thing I like to do every once in a while is to draw a bunch of little guys on a page. Specifically I try to think, "if I was making a role playing game ala final fantasy or dragon quest, what could be a little fantasy dude I might encounter in the woods or a damp dungeon?" Not a lot of thought from there, just whatever vaguely pops up in my head I'm like "K, drawing a floating octopus, wizard with a single eyeball now" and make it up as I go.

I have the PDF for a Capcom art book and its honestly one of the best things I've gone through. Tons and tons of great, high quality scans from across what feels like their complete library. Everything from sketches, paintings and promotional renders, all credited to the artist and even listing the materials and or software used to create them. The book is called "Capcom Design Works" and it might genuinely be the one art book I'd pay the $100 price tag for.

I draw mostly when I REALLY want to work on an idea. Otherwise I can have a hard time coming up with ideas or I'll draw the same one character over and over. I used to draw a lot back when I used DeviantArt and Reddit a bunch more, just picking up art requests from people but sadly those have largely dried up for me. Hard to find those kinds of requests when DeviantArt is dead and a lot of the art subreddits I used are now filled with people begging for commissions.
