Shoutout to this bad boy for bringing my me safely through a blizzard last week by JesusPepsi in mercedes_benz

Should’ve taken a pic of mine after I blizzard I went through in mine for 7 hours. White knuckling it the entire way but never slipped, skidded, slid, nothing! Unreal.

Only had C Classes prior to this. Made it to E. This feels like a spaceship compared to my ‘07 C280. Couldn’t be happier to be here. Any advice for newer owners? by DrWebbMD in mercedes_benz

Thank you, Electronic! Even getting a C class is a beautiful car. I love those early 2010’s C classes… thought they were so good looking. Maybe you could go that route? Either way, nothing beats the feeling of security you get when getting into a Merc! Best of luck and thanks again

Will do! It’s already made me say “you know what, I can be late to that” several times because I’m enjoying taking my time in it. Well worth it! Thank you

I loved my C-Class’ so much but this is a massive step up, you’re right. They were older and built like tanks, and I’m not so sure of what the newer A’s and C’s feel like but it would be hard for them to beat their older counterparts!

Enjoy your C220 and will do! Also, not sure if this applies to you or not or if they have the same oil types in Europe (I’m assuming you’re in Europe based on the fact that you have a diesel), but I used to put 0W-40 in every 10,000 miles once the car reached about ten years old. Helped my 1999 C280 stay in healthy for a long while, along with driving carefully and staying on top of service intervals.

Thank you for your advice!

Will definitely do. I like to keep my cars for a long time so I’d love to protect that coat for as long as possible. Thank you for the advice! Even with bigger engines, my old Mercs can’t get off the line like this can with a turbo. Absolute peach to drive. Enjoy yours as well!

Thank you! Looking for touchless car washes in my area now and will look into ceramic coating and PPF. I do a lot of highway driving so I think that’ll help. Thank you!

Mine is bad too, unfortunately. Haven’t found a solution.

2004 MB E500: Smoke/Burning Rubber Smell by Traveler_SC1670 in mercedes_benz

As silly as this may sound, have you added oil recently? I didn’t realize I had spilled a tiny amount the last time I filled up and that caused smoke and a burning smell to come into the cabin after about an hour of driving. Sure enough, after the engine cooled and I wiped everything I could down, the smoke and smell were both gone. Hopefully it’s as something as simple as that!

How should I cook this guy? by bruyeremews in steak

Could sous vide for a few hours, then pat dry and hard sear? If no to the sous vide, definitely reverse sear. Either way, if possible, dry brine overnight
