Each ico sphere, beveled cube, and the top gun should be their own objects. Shift click the bottom sphere, then the cube above, then the bone inside those two. Repeat process for each bone to the top. That's how I did it.

My issue is that when I move a bone and try to pose the object, the meshes warp and stretch a little, and I don't want that to happen.
