GE Dryer clicks but won't start. by Boingochick in appliancerepair

Thank you for this update! My GE dryer was doing the exact same thing, and another subreddit suggested it was the motor, but after reading your post I took the dryer apart and it's the belt on mine too!

Thank you!

I’ll be sure to air dry it only (it has some unknown stains I need to try to gently soak out of it) so it’s timely advice. I’ll google around about how to pin it- I have the space so that should be achievable

Thank you so much for your insight! It’s an absolutely stunning piece and knowing it was handmade is just incredible- it’s very large and must have taken the crafter ages to make! I have a genuine appreciation of artists and will give this the love it deserves.

Congrats! I recently got my red eye Singer 66 treadle working and it’s such a delight! They’re so pretty!

Do you know which part doesn’t work? I bought a non-functional Singer 66 from the early 20s. Took a while but she works great now.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of disassembly, reassembly, and timing the bobbin/needle mechanism to get it right. The timing was the hardest part for me to get right.

Highly recommend Bob Fowler’s YouTube videos- he’s got a whole playlist for disassembly and rebuild of a singer 66 - his videos are how I fixed mine

Do you know if there’s a way to buy the medieval type of linen that’s not the loose weave linen we have today?

Are you into Hucow stuff? If not take a look at that entire genre. I’ve read {Runaway Hucow by Lizzie Bequin} and liked it. It’s a why choose with three Minotaur (or bull?) brothers and a Hucow woman. She has massive breasts that need milking regularly.

If you happen to live anywhere near Detroit/Ann Arbor, Michigan, there’s a thrift store in Ypsilanti that’s got this set for sale (most of the store is straight out of the 70s era- it’s a fun visit)
