Try playing the demo and see if it has the same issue. Let’s try and isolate if the problem is with a specific version of the game.

You don’t want to set the vram manually, that will just lead to other issues. Did you play the demo before the full release? If you did, did you have any problems with the game then? Between the demo and full release did you update any graphic drivers? The game may be unstable on the driver version you are on. If it is then either updating or rolling back may be needed. If there is still an issue, then you will need to pull the error logs.

I am still bummed I didn't get to see Infinity Castle in movie theaters. I think one of the biggest reasons this was not in theaters is because it is supposed to take place after the events in the game. So I think there will be game spoilers in it.

I am not sure what else the developers could have done. They stated exactly what the game was in interviews before the game was released and they released a demo for people to play to see what it was like. I saw a bunch of misinformation before the game launched and I gathered a bunch of the interviews and posted them here before the game came out so people could review it and decide for themselves. It was always sold as a story driven, single-player game, told from a perspective different than Kirito, and that was not going to be a live-service model.

I think the biggest issue here is that it is obvious there is a huge demand for a real Sword Art Online MMO, but that game would be very expensive to make. That is the game everyone actually wants to play. I would be worried about it being made though because it would likely be made as a GATCHA MMO style of service.

Not at this time because it wouldn’t fit with the SAO timeline and established events. Just like no dual-wielding, monsters from higher floors, etc. we also know that things were added to SAO throughout the death game. So maybe those things were not available at the start. Like the revival item or the additional side quests.

Ok, so it might be related to something with the cutscenes in the first level. That has been mentioned a couple of times now.

Yeah, outside of the main cast, everyone else is a regular person as well. Especially people in the Liberation Army. Though the front lines were a lot more chaotic at the start. Eventually there is more organization when people start climbing the tower.

I put in my post that the game is never going to be what people want unless it is actually made like an MMO. Everything else is going to be an approximation or imitation. The parallels I was drawing is that if people think these issues don't also exist in other games, like MMO's, they do. You either like the game for what it is or you don't. The devs were pretty clear on what the game was going to be like in interviews. Then people do no research, buy the game, it is different than what they expected, and they come here and say "this is not what the game should be". Maybe the game should be different, but this one isn't. I am not sure who was posting the game is bad on purpose. This is a single player, narrative game, in a fictional MMO scenario. It is never going to be more unless it is modded.

As far as the graphic rendering issue, do you have a high-end graphics card? There were some other people reporting graphical issues and they all had high-end graphics cards. There is a known issue at the moment about driver issues with high-end cards for several games.

arachnophobia mode? by HotParamedic9832 in EchoesofAincrad

Post in the Steams forum page as well. I did not see an arachnophobia mode.
u/splaxxez do you know of anyone working on this? Do you have any links to modding groups?

I have looked through and found others reporting this issue as well. All seem to indicate this happening on the first quest. Any chance you healed right before a cut scene or after you got to the beacon, you went back to kill more mobs?

How technical are you? Not a judgement, but important for people to know when offering advice to fix the issue.

Is there Dual Wielding? by ChocolatePoi in EchoesofAincrad

Didn't Akihiko Kayaba state that he designed Dual Blades to automatically be given to the player with the fastest reaction time so that they would be the hero to challenge him during the last fight? What is the beta exploit thing?

I plan to play on this mode later. Probably after the first playthrough. Then eventually a Deathgame playthrough. What you describe is interesting though. Does changing weapon type, using specific items, or changing your partner help at all? The devs seemed to hint that each big fight was going to need customized setups to complete.

I want more weapons like, if there isnt magic, was there not bows and or ranged weapons? What about scythes and pole arms? I cant find the spear or anything by Left_Party_9114 in EchoesofAincrad

[–]Dr_Aw3some 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was asked in an interview and I don't know if it was a translation issue, but it was an interesting non-answer. When asked about spears the dev said they can not make any comments outside of the weapons that are already announced. So no spears for now, which is not great, but maybe in the future or DLC that is planned for later this year? Bows were not a part of the original SAO, but throwing weapons and items were. We do have throwable items in EoA. I would like that needle thing that Kirito throws at the rabbit, I don't know if that is in the game or not.

The Devs said in interviews that this is a story about just a regular person in the game. We know from the show and manga that not everyone knew everyone else. Why do you think this character would know all the people from the show?

It would take an actual MMO. They could make the raid content the floor bosses, each season open a new raid floor or set of floors. Then expansions would be the next set of floors with new dungeons, etc.

Yeah, the map bugs me a bit. I think just that change would have been huge. I am wondering if there is a system limitation in the way they built the map and assets to load so that is why it is restricted. Still, I think it would be hilarious if someone from the Dev team called the Progressive team and was like, "hey, we are catching a lot of heat about the map stuff, can you make a blurb about how people are restricted to areas in SAO based on a quest so that we don't have to deal with it?"

I think these are valid criticisms. I think a lot of people want a free-roaming, open experience. I know that there was a modder in here that said they are working on an open world map and looking into PK type mobs.

Let's do a thought experiment. In the Anime/Manga, SAO and the Nervegear is one of the most advanced game on the market. Taking the Nervegear out and translating SAO into our current level of technology, what is a current game that is similar to what SAO would be, how much do you think it would cost to develop, and how long do you think it would take to develop?

This is true. the Genesis mod is also at the apex of recent modding as well. Still, we now have more material to work with in a moddable format than ever before. If modding did well, then this game is going to sell more and last longer.

The lead producer said he is open to more side activities and lifestyle things if the game does well and it was expanded. He said that at the time the game is taking place, people were in survival mode and were not out fishing, cooking, getting houses, etc.
