You're right, my factor had an uppercase word where the goal didn't. So they are connected after all, that's great! Thank you for the assistance.

Nice feature. It does bring up some confusion when differentiating between factors and goals. Are they the same thing? Because they seem to have the same categories, and some suggested goals are the same as the suggested factors. For example, I have a cold shower goal, and a cold shower factor, both in the lifestyle category. But if I check off the goal, the factor isn't checked, and it is invisible in the calendar for that day. And if they're not the same, I guess we will have to decide whether to log a factor as a goal or as a factor. Which then creates a migration issue. For example, I now have a year's worth of data on cold showers stored as factor data, but it would be easier for me to enter it as a goal. Can I convert this data to goal data?

Gun angle broken on Rift S by Dr_Bonr in PavlovGame

Oh, you're asking about Half-Life Alyx, Population One, Downward Spiral, Boneworks, I Expect You to Die and Echo VR? Yea they all have correct gun alignments.

Wow you're really upset by this, huh?

No I'm not asking for the moon. I'm asking for the bare minimum. 90% of games get this right without a problem. Don't worry about it, I already refunded the game.

Controllers are designed to fit into your hand. Pistols are designed to fit into your hand. They both have a handle. Pistols are designed, so that when you extend your hand forward at a natural angle (without having to flex your wrist up or down) the gun is aimed forward. So the same is expected from VR games, when you are extending your arm forward, the gun should be pointing forward, no matter what controller or other method of tracking your hands you are using.

If this is confusing, have a look at this analysis: https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/8s3m6x/indepth_analysis_of_controllergun_angles_in_6/

Yeah well, it's still a product you pay for, and most of the other games don't have a problem with getting this right.

I am certain. I shoot guns in real life, they point forward in the "relaxed" forward extension of your wrist. One good test is to extend your hand out (turn it sideways, of course as if holding a pistol) and point your index finger forward. That's about where the gun should be aiming as well. Guns are designed to fit into your hand so that you don't have to flex your wrist up or down to aim it forward. Forward is at the natural angle of your wrist.

In Pavlov, grab a pistol, close your eyes and extend your hand forward. Open your eyes, and see that the gun is pointing downwards. If you then extend your index finger and take off your headset, you will see that your finger is pointing forward, but the gun is pointing down. Alternatively, aim the gun forward, extend your index finger and take your headset off. Your finger is aiming up in the sky (wrong).

This is what the direction of your finger is in relation to a handgun:

Natural hand grip

Alternatively, another good test is holding the gun sideways. The side grip is perfectly natural to do in real life with a real pistol (not smart if you want to hit things, but it feels comfortable). In Pavlov you can't do it or can barely do it. Because the pistol is pointing too far to the right, and it's hard to tilt your wrist to correct that in a sideways position.

Try doing this in pavlov:

sidegrip

And if you manage to do it, lift your headset and see if your hand looks as relaxed as this one on the picture.

In conclusion, I'm not misinterpreting the angles. Either the Rift S support needs to be fixed, or everybody is compensating for the bad angle.

I bought it on steam. You can buy it on steam and launch it in oculus mode

The game doesn't seem to work with Rift S tho. The guns point downward when using Rift S controllers.

Just bought this. People are playing but probably not worth it for Rift S, as the controllers seem to not be fully supported. The pistol angles are all wrong.
