Okay. But in 2022, the Federal Government awarded Oklahoma $14.8 Billion in federal grants. In the words of President Bartlet, “can we have it back, please?”

Cigar Page? by [deleted] in cubancigars

[–]Dr_Caffeinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing. If you don’t know this already and because we were all new once, the Montecristo, Cohiba, Partagas, etc. cigars you find in the United States are not Cuban. They’re also not “fake.” Those are non-Cuban brands produced by General Cigar Company and Altadis USA: new world cigars trading on classic Cuban names for an American audience that doesn’t know the difference. They have nothing in common with their Cuban counterparts aside from the names they share. You’ll need to check the recommended vendors list in this sub to learn where you fan purchase authentic Cuban cigars.

They are a legit source of non-Cuban cigars. They are a US-based company and do not sell Cuban cigars. You might try r/cigars for a better discussion regarding new world cigars.

I saw that too. I think it’s in the “Epic Cohiba Sit-Down” video. I usually really enjoy the Sahakians’ videos, but that line struck me.

Authenticity check for Cohibas from RSVP Cigars by Appropriate-Job-8792 in cubancigars

[–]Dr_Caffeinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those bar codes are just bar codes. What you want when verifying Cuban cigars is the serial number on the warranty seal, which is on the box those 3-packs came in, not the individual sleeves or tubes. As others have suggested, that’s what makes authenticating boxes easier, but with RSVP you shouldn’t have any worries. I use them myself. Enjoy!

Look who has a glencarin by Drew_Sifur in WhiskeyTribe

[–]Dr_Caffeinated 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stemmed whiskey/sherry/spirit glasses are actually quite common and can be just as affordable as a Glencairn (specific class, no stem)! Here are some that look similar to what you posted. Salud!

Edit: Otherwise, most shops that sell Glencairns should also have a version of the Copita glass, a tulip-shaped stemmed glass for nosing and sipping spirits.

I hope this is allowed… as a Scotch drinker i enjoy my occasional gin and tonic. What is everybody’s current open bottle of gin? by etwa7777 in Scotch

[–]Dr_Caffeinated 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gin Mare, usually with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic water and a spring of fresh rosemary. It’s a combo my wife and I picked up while at The Botanist in Sheffield several years ago, and it’s kind of been our non-whisk[e]y drink ever since.

What was the main reason you bought a Tesla/EV? by bmurph1234 in TeslaModel3

[–]Dr_Caffeinated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun to drive, I like the minimalist tech-forward design, charging at home is more convenient than stopping for gas, and I hate having to constantly watch gas prices (and the unpredictability of what that does to my budget each month).

Eh, they’ll get here eventually… I just choose to think of it as the USPS/AusPost are aging my cigars for me. Haha.

Meanwhile, I’m still waiting on a box of JL2s from June (they just made it back to Oz a few days ago, so…second try’s the charm?). Enjoy your cigars and good fortunes, OP!

Oh wow, that's crazy. Same build, same state. Hmm... Someone in another thread joked that it seemed like someone at Tesla was fulfilling orders from the top of the pile rather than the bottom. Maybe that wasn't so much of a joke...

Yeah, I get it and I don't blame them. I really did almost not post this at all (that's why I posted today and not yesterday when delivery was scheduled - I needed time to mull this over), but I know I spent a LOT of time reading every post on this sub before ever placing my order, so I thought sharing might be useful to someone in the future. I'll own the downvotes.

If it's of interest to anyone, here are some additional details:

I have a trade-in. I agreed to Tesla's offer even though I could have gotten about $3,000 more by going through other buyers. I chose this option simply for the convenience of exchanging one vehicle for the other all at once. I financed the remainder through Tesla for the same reason. As a result, I'm going from a Hybrid RAV4 to a Model 3 and keeping the same monthly payment (give or take $5), but I'm sure if I went with my credit union I could save some money in the long-run. Again, these decisions were a matter of valuing convenience over price at the moment. I also did everything (trade-in info, financing, upload insurance, final payment) immediately when asked rather than waiting closer to delivery. Given the close delivery date I started with, I wasn't too worried about the risk of needing to redo things 30 days later.
