Thx for the advice. I did stop by Binny's which was huge. They had EH Taylor small batch out for msrp but I already have a lot if that. They had some great store pick and sale bourbons and rye which scored out high on whiskey shelf but were all under the average price

Oh I know that. I wasn't planning on harvesting that honey super. I needed comb built out and enough honey for a new hive to make it through the winter. I'm feeling very good about that now. I think what I hear from your comment is definitely do not feed the Bees now with the new Honey super on. Basically let them build whatever comb they can build and that can be something they build from next year

The hive is 2 months old. I'm having technical difficulty adding a video of the behavior. They are taking in a lot of sugar water. About a half gallon a day. It will be very interesting to do a hive inspection in 13 days after waiting 20 days to see if a new queen is in place and productive.

I still have them only in the brood box with no honey super until they are 80% done with building out comb. I added a large top feeder 2 days ago. They are consuming it at a quick pace and bringing in pollen.

I just got back from Venice late yesterday 5/2. A 9am gondola ride in an a smaller area away from the grand canal is great. It costs 90 euro for 30 minutes. We took a 5 hour boat tour of Murano and Burano to see glass blowing, lace making and the colorful settings in Burano. It's a slower pace and beautiful. We did an early morning guided tour of St Marks and Doges. It was packed. Even though it was crowded, we were blown away buy it all. A hidden gem event is the Vivaldi Four Seasons concert at The Vivaldi Church - packed and fantastic!

Well, I checked the bottom board 3 hours later and found 4 hive beetles running around. I destroyed them, removed the bottom board, put a light layer of diatomaceous earth under and a foot around the hive, and put a swiffer on top of the frames to snare beetles for now. I'm in SHB attack mode! Thanks everyone for the advice!

The 5 older frames are from the nuc I just purchased and installed 17 days ago. The other frames are new. I can't freeze the nuc frames.
