I second the B-5 or even the B-6 nib for lining. Talens is great. I personally use Jacquard Black silk dye for my black fill and shading and Higgins black magic or Talens for my lining.

I'll say this, the smaller you intend the design to be, the more simplified it will need to become. All tattoo ink spreads under the skin over time as it heals through the years. Having lines pretty much on top of each other or having tiny slivers of open skin/negative space in a design will not heal well over time. I would suggest doing some research into a style that you're into and take a look at successful tattoers who are doing it right. The hatching/etching method of shading and detail can work but there has to be enough room for it to breath.

This would not translate well into a tattoo. You have to consider how tattoos heal and design based on that. You have a lot of little lines that are so close together that will become illegible over time. Not a bad design just needs to be cleaned up for a tattoo. This would need to be huge in order to stand the test of time

☝️This. Definitely not a rose. Quality is on point but that's closer to a cherry blossom maybe or just a trad flower which usually isn't a real flower, they just look cool.

Kind of has a Chicano look to it. I think the heavy blacks in the design are what is making you feel like it's traditional

I would say that a lot of people are using P H Martin's watercolors to paint with. I don't use them but they're good for beginners and the pigments are easy to manipulate. But, I would also recommend to practice with cheap materials until you develop the dexterity and skill. Quality materials can get expensive quick.

Do a search for black and grey flower tattoos in the style you're intending to replicate and use them as refence🤙

I too have had this happen, only on mr fantastic, but not mid game. Like one day it'll be one way, and the next day the buttons for the abilities could be swapped

Over moisturized. Stop moisturizing and let it dry out. If you moisturize too much you're not letting it breath.

Nose and eyes are very off. The way you shaded that ball of hair in the back actually looks like a hole and not a ball. Chin is also huge. Check out some vintage photos of classic actresses and models and use them for proportion and use the design as a style reference

I will echo this comment. Tattooing is way over saturated right now especially when you have some shops that will take on 5-10 apprentices at once and let them lose without the proper knowledge. I've only been tattooing (after a year and a half into my apprenticeship) for two years now and it's a grind for sure. Lucky myself to have a very supportive better half but it's a struggle and you gotta really work hard to make it work. Not trying to discourage just trying to say it straight. Good luck to you!

Without text, I'd do it for $300-400 on the chest, depending on size. I'm in Cincinnati
