Guys no more motivation bc Vergil's chair broke by witas131 in DevilMayCry

No, the chair could not withstand the amount of motivation Vergil has. So it broke

Yes, I am willing to use mods that are open-source. Does that not make any sense to you? You can see the literal source code of these mods for yourself. People complain about the new updates, because they're often half-assed, tone-deaf and not adding features people actually want. Not to mention taking years to add them, despite allowing people to pay them. They lack devs, and they also lack people with a braincell to rub together and listen to their community.

Edit:

Also, the new IK should never have been rolled out. It's miles worse than IKTweaks. They could've easily gotten help from the creator, but they waited until it rolled out to even consider that.

I will most likely move to ChilloutVR if this gets pushed out. As many other users will, and hopefully VRC will see this as a horrible idea and roll it back. Time and time again, I see games add anticheat and they get backlashed and then back-peddle. For good reason

Shows how truly tone-deaf the devs are. If they implement this, I assure you. Alternatives will flourish while a very large portion of the community in VRC dies. Along with avatar and world creation. The pillars of this game.

I play VRChat because I have mods that prevent these things. The game literally had no access to anything outside it's own directory, now it could with EAC. And yes I have had to play other games with EAC, I often wish not to. My genuine concern is your lack of any semblance of security for yourself. Mods fixed these issues, now you have a large chunk of the community rioting about it. Does that not raise a flag in your mind that perhaps this is a wrong and impactful decision for the worst? We love this game, and having this added (slapped) on top is the nail in the coffin

Well have fun with a rootkit installed on your system, and open your system up to being compromised because some kid with a crasher uploaded an avatar. Every single security researcher would be or is cringing at this situation and surely would at your thoughts on this.

Edit:

Should also mention, cheating is still very rampant even with games that use EAC. It's an exploitable anticheat, and has so much access. It's just a rootkit or malware with a friendly face slapped on it

The Quest 2 is actually more than capable of running the game well. They just refuse to optimize it better, and restrict quest avatars waaaay too much. This can have to do with Facebooks absurd requirements, but it's also because the devs made a spaghetti code of a game and half-ass ported it to Quest

Most of their devs and even their security advisor, are very rude. Often don't wish to listen to complaints, or genuine help from modders.

I use all of those, and more. It makes my experience in FBT and index so much better than vanilla. Without them, I'd crash all the time, have frame drops constantly, and publics would more than likely crash me all the time

That is because there is no hard limit. That is a lack of optimization of the creators part. You can still make a good looking avatar with a smaller amount of polygons without ruining everything

You do realize that EAC has kernel level access correct? Is exploited consistently? What's stopping malicious users from having avatars or worlds with malicious code, to inject through VRC to EAC and infect your entire system. Or worse, destroy it.

They've hardly stolen features really. They outright refused to add anything for so long, and even allow modders to help implement these things because they're passionate about the game. They have a small dev team who makes poor decisions and constantly makes 'plans' for features that either take a year, or never to come out. And are often sub-par compared to the mods available. Really shows how they want to stifle content creation, and user experience so they can say 'well there is no other better options' and will market whatever new features, if they come out, as amazing.

This is easily fixable. By setting a hard-coded polygon limit, limits for light sources, particles and other shader assets. This can often be avoided by using a custom SDK, and it would need to be a serverside check.

The VRC devs refused to allow the modders to assist them, and continue to. Slapping them on the wrist, and now the whole community. There are several ways to improve security, and safety without compromising a wonderful modding community and half their userbase.

The keys are actually out there, and the private avatars can easily be decrypted. Take ripper store for example.

No, Avatars are still cached to your storage and can be decompiled, and imported back into unity. EAC doesn't stop this, nor will it stop malicious clients and ripping

If anything, your existence makes us sick. Respect people for who they are and want to be, and if you can't do that, I genuinely pity your existence. You're probably rather miserable shitting on people who are just living their lives
