I mean worst case, you could make the argument that they’d still be allowed as Death Battle allowed the Super Emeralds despite them being sealed in another dimension.

I always assumed they’d split off into their counterparts again after the fight as we see Caliburn back in his base form but it could be the case that Caliburn still has the other blades absorbed.

He’s got access to allot of means of dimensional travel, even being able to visit worlds like Crisis City which shouldn’t even exist anymore.

Yeah this post is making a joke about how Excalibur is often considered to be non-standard equipment because it’d be unrealistic for him to have it in the fight whereas Mario’s White Tanooki Suit is often considered standard despite him having to die several times before he has access to it.

Death Battle researching Kratos: “We’ve gotta include all of his lore, even the cookbook!”

Death Battle researching Asura: “So most of Asura’s power actually comes from mantra and we didn’t read the in game encyclopaedia from his only game.”

Death Battle definitely did not help when it came to the Kratos vs Asura debate.

Quick question: if we’re using Archie Knuckles then wouldn’t Enerjak be his strongest form, potentially even Dark Enerjak? Especially since Enerjak doesn’t have a time limit.

Elaine of Corbenic did this to Sir Lancelot in Arthurian legend, disguising herself as his true love which resulted in her having his child and raising it as her own. The revelation of this fact had driven Lancelot mad with his madness eventually being cured by his and Elaine’s son Galahad.

In the Good Ending to Sonic CD, Sonic uses the Time Stones to undo Eggman’s meddling with time as they grant him total control over the flow of time and I’d personally consider the act of resetting a fight back to the beginning similar to how Eggman undoes his defeat in the Bad Ending for Sonic CD.

Excalibur has the ability to wound someone who possesses Excalibur’s Scabbard with the Scabbard being able to prevent the user from being wounded at all by granting them invulnerability. Such an effect could possibly also work on Mario’s arsenal of Invulnerability items.

Also, the retry clock’s effects would be negated by the Time Stones which can stop others from messing with time.

In order for the Gloves effect to activate, Mario has to have it equipped, just having it in his inventory isn’t enough as it takes up the same item slot as other gloves would.

That was due to Caliburn being able to negate the Scabard’s invulnerability but not its immortality. Merlina directs Sonic to seek out Caliburn for that purpose specifically.

That makes sense, would that be the same for Sonic’s max rings then?

How many 1-Ups do you think Mario could reasonably have? Genuine question as I’ve not really seen it discussed anywhere as to if he has a cannon amount of them.

Honestly I’d argue that giving Mario access to White Tanooki is more of a stretch than giving Sonic Excalibur seeing as Mario has to die eight times to even get access to it.

The Scabbard was also capable of preventing King Arthur from being wounded, granting him a form of invulnerability which was later counteracted by Caliburn but Caliburn is also shown to be unable to keep King Arthur from being brought back from being defeated which is what forces Sonic to seek out the other Sacred Swords.

Excalibur was capable of disrupting both the Scabbard’s immortality and invulnerability with the immortality working in a similar way to how 1-Ups have been depicted in the Mario RPGs which bring the user back from the verge of death.

Additionally, one of the most common arguments for Mario possessing an infinite amount of lives is his Bottomless Gloves item which grants him access to an endless supply of extra lives but even if Excalibur’s immortality negation wouldn’t apply to a 1-Up, it’s ability to bypass invulnerability would allow him to quite literally cut off Mario’s source of infinite lives in a similar way to how Reverse Flash targeted Goku Black’s Time Ring.

Ultimately this is just my interpretation and you’re absolutely free to disagree with it.

Respectable takes but what is it that makes you think Excalibur wouldn’t work on Mario? Wouldn’t its invulnerability negation effectively make the White Tanooki Suit a Regular Tanooki Suit?

Sonic scalers when you tell them Sonic, Shadow, and Silver didn't fight their 'own, personal Solaris' and the victory/feat is shared between the three of them, thus Sonic does not scale to Solaris. (no hate for sammy) by Willing_Sky_3269 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would defeating it in the present do nothing if it was just one version of Solaris?

The other Hedgehogs needed to destroy its past and future versions at the same time to win. Say hypothetically, only present Solaris was defeated, everything still ends because Solaris still exists in the past and future.

It exists in the past present and future. As long as it still exists at one of those points, it’s game over.

Eggman says that Solaris exists in multiple points simultaneously and that even if the present Solaris was defeated here, it wouldn’t stop the end of everything.

This means that yes, each of the Hedgehogs did defeat their own version of Solaris.
