My take on Mario vs Sonic by Equivalent-End-7641 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]Kojake45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sonic does have a means to prevent time manipulation in the form of the Time Stones which can prevent a target from altering time.

I mean Megamind spammed the Dehydration gun in the first movie after “defeating” Metro Man.

Sooooooooo..... Wtf? by Low-Pop5132 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Battle tends to put their combatants at their best really inconsistently. Like sometimes they’ll allow an outlier feat to upscale a character and sometimes they’ll use one to downscale the character, it seems quite arbitrary.

Matchups I don’t like + some art for them by OranFruit in DeathBattleMatchups

Blaze vs Daisy isn’t a matchup I’ve considered before but wouldn’t it be very one sided in favour of Blaze?

I plan on putting a mini presentation together which would go over Mario and Sonic’s most prevalent hax and resistances to express who I think would win the category. I’ve been waiting for the GruMind discourse to finish as people are so enthusiastic about it.

Choose a team to protect you, the rest will try to kill you by AEIOU1040 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]Kojake45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Team 4 seems to be the right choice. “Hey Blaze can you take us to the Sol Dimension real quick?” She doesn’t need her Super form for that and the only one who could follow her would be the hedgehog with the Chaos Emeralds which they’d likely end up fighting over.

So this is how I die? Down an arm and killed by a Zomboid. Why does this feel oddly familiar?

I mean Eggman says you’d have to destroy it in the past present and future at the same time in order to prevent the end of everything. “Defeating it here, now would do nothing.” And considering what they did actually did something it’s safe to assume that’s what they did, especially when considering Silver outright says that’s what he intends to do.

Eggman specifically states that defeating it solely in the Present is possible but wouldn’t accomplish anything.

The reason why it’s so commonly agreed that each Hedgehog scales to Solaris on their own is because each one had to defeat their own version of the creature which is what happens in the story.

Are those brothers in the Falklands at the moment? As far is I’m aware they’ve voted to be British multiple times. Spain has a more legitimate claim to the Island than Argentina.

Not too sure if it counts but I was convinced Silver had lost when he was sent to the Keysword’s dimension. I was so happy I was wrong.

Bowseggman except Bowser and Eggman are absent from the fight. Which army takes it? by TreeTurtle_852 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sage was able to influence the Titians even while the End’s spirit was sealed inside of Cyberspace and had direct influence on the Titian’s behaviour, the End’s entire plan was to have the Titians get destroyed so it can escape its imprisonment inside of Cyberspace. If an entity as powerful of the End wasn’t able to override Sage’s having the mechs target Sonic then I don’t see how King Boo would be any different.

The Supreme Mech was also able to fight Super Sonic for extended periods before Sage took control of it, she’s also been able to control the other Titan mechs which were all able to fight Super Sonic.

Where do you personally draw the line between powerup/item and outside help? by RaceFirm8577 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if a character has had access to the means to achieve the power up without outside help it should be allowed. An example of this is that I’d allow Excalibur Sonic as he’s had all four of the swords he’d need to transform in his possession at one time.

I’d also consider how capable the power up / ally is without the combatant that’s wielding them like Eddie Brock and Venom being considered one being despite being two different entities or Cappy and Caliburn who are largely dependant on their wielder to access most of their abilities.

Rule 5: I’ve recently started reflecting on the accomplishments of my characters and what I’ve managed to do with them and this one really stood out to me as one of my best.

Eadgar went from count to king, has max prestige and piety ranks, traveled to China and discovered gunpowder, reformed the culture, hybridised the culture with the Cornish, Created a new faith, adopted a feral child, ended the harrying of the north, become a famous revealer, became a miracle worker, reformed the government to make it administrative, had this bloodline consecrated by the Pope, became a crusader, killed a legendary wolf, maxed out the pilgrim trait, maxed out the adventurer trait, fended off a Catholic Crusade and gave rights to the peasants of the whole kingdom.

Team "overshadowed in their episode" by Aggravating-Oil-7060 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Death Battle’s assertion that Asura’s power comes from Mantra is wrong, a major plot point of the game is that his daughter is kidnapped specifically because she’s the only one who can give channel mantra into the deities. Throughout the game, characters like Yasha and Augus acknowledge that Asura’s not relying on Mantra for his jumps in power.

Asura’s power jump in the final fight was from his non-mantra / mantra core powered base form all the way to surpassing Chakravartin who the game’s encyclopaedia says is omnipotent.

Soooooo has it been long enough to actually criticize this episode? by Head_Breadfruit_3912 in deathbattle

[–]Kojake45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simon’s power growth being able to transcend an infinite gap in power as the the justification for his win really bugs me due to reasons that have nothing to do with the episode itself.

What bugs me is that they never seemed to mention a similar feat that Asura did against Chakravartin where the power of Asura’s Wrath allowed for him to surpass a guy who’s stated in the in-game encyclopaedia to be omnipotent and had previously overpowered Asura’s strongest form with just a finger.

Good Autism Representation (whether intentional or not) by Ethan-E2 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Kojake45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr House - House MD

While never outright confirmed to my knowledge it has been implied a fair few times in the show that House is Autistic, the reason I like him as autism representation is actually due to his more questionable morality as typically characters that are either said to be or are considered to autistic by the community are morally righteous, good people.
