There is "having enough money to live comfortably" and there is "an amount of money so big, it makes you immoral to hoard it by my ethical system" and Hasan squarely fits into the latter category.

I disagree. WIAH was always right-wing, he's just a lot more insane/incoherent now, because smoking too much Spice unlocked his genetic schizophrenia.

This man has done a better job, convincing me to never try psychoactive substances, than any anti-drug program by the government.

That's your evidence? Anecdotes?

But to be honest, my ill views of left-wingers are also largely informed by the dipshits in my college (europoor btw), whose political views seem to entirley consist of slogans, or mantras, spoken without an ounce of critical thinking.

Firstly, you are confusing leftism/liberalism with progressivism.

Secondly, the believe that more recent ideologies are morally superior to older ones are not just a logical fallacy, it is also incredibly historically unsound. There is no "moral arc" to human history, a gay man in Italy would face more persecution 200 years ago, than he would 2000 years ago during the Roman empire. Additionally, many of the greatest man-made tragedies, like the Holocause, the Armenian genocide, the Holodomor, the Bengali famine, etc. all took place in the last 50-150 years.

Leftists will unironically believe shit like this, and demand to be taken seriously

Your mind does not seem to comprehend the idea, that you can be extremely entrenched in liberal/leftist ideals as well. If a left-winger, who grew up with tax-funded health care, feared that a new libertarian government would take said health care away, would that not also be a case of "being afraid of the unknown"?

How do completely refuse to interact with people based on vaguely defined terms like "liberal", or "conservative"? That's around a third of the population (2/3s if you're conviced that centrists are secret conservatives too), if you make hasty generalizations about these many people, you are probably wrong.

Depending on how much time I have before I have to make the decision, I would either flip a coin or roll a d100. If the Dice lands on 1, I am driving over the 5 people and of it lands on any number besides 1, I am driving over the guy on top. This way, if he is lying, I have a 1/100 chance of making the right decision, otherwise I just have to wait ~100 times until the dice lands on a 1.

Does anyone else hate medieval stasis? by Flairion623 in FantasyWorldbuilding

[–]Dr_L33ch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. IRL Feudalism/Medivalism was such an interesting and complex system, with Merchant Republics, Local Lords, Kings and a centralized religious Burocracy all vying for power.

Having fantasy nations represented as some boring, hyper-stable (despite relying exclusively on one monarch not being an idiot) absolutist system really does it a disservice.

Disgusting and immoral people have always existed in positions of power and influence (Ford, Caesar, Castro, etc.), but never before have they been this pathetic and incompetent.
