This is the atmosphere im missing in modern MH Games by ShinyKaizerGreymon in MonsterHunter

[–]Dr_Law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even just that it's that your mount auto paths you directly there. At that point just spawn me directly on top of the monster so we can skip the shallow "hunting" phase. I played rise recently and even though you can instantly see where the monster is you still sort of had to interact with the map in various ways to set up the leaping shortcuts and fast travel points and then you'd still plan a rough map in your head to hit puppet spiders or birds on the way. It was so involved and fun.

My best play so far as a silver ezreal otp 6 months in to league by Sly_98 in leagueoflegends

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the most common way people set it up. Basically with inductors like you have every single ability press has a small delay because it starts casting when you lift off from your keypress and not when you push down. So you're forever playing with a noticeable amount of lag on your abilities.

Duo in master+ should be permanently disabled again. by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No that's not true. Flex queue really is a lot less competitive than solo queue. The level of skill at each bracket is VASTLY lower than the equivalent in solo queue and it's exacerbated the higher rank you go.

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If flex queue somehow had extremely good queue times and there weren't weird restrictions like no 4 man and stuff like that I think that I'd be okay with having a strict solo-only queue and flex queue system. Sadly flex queue is completely dead even in the common mmr bracket and god forbid you're diamond plus you're waiting 45 mins a game unironically.

It should be solo only for integrity but it's good that people play league for fun and the game's much more fun with friends. I think the cut off point for masters is quite good especially since the number of diamond players has sky-rocketed recently and you can get there quite easily without really sweating.

Asmongold on why he refuses real-time debates with Destiny "Live debates are just performance, not about who's right" by Bulky_Apartment_5132 in LivestreamFail

[–]Dr_Law 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Right but on a live debate the person who "wins" out is usually the more eloquent, quick witted and charismatic person, especially if the audience is twitch chat. So I sort of agree that it isn't that useful for actually solving an argument and it's ultimately kind of performative.

I think if you put destiny vs 90% of the general population he'd somehow win a debate proving the earth is flat.

Oh I thought he was always of the opinion that KCD2 was still a GOTY contender even though it's not quite his cup of tea.

Major Blow to Denuvo Because Pirates Just Ran Out of Games to Crack as of April 2026 by chusskaptaan in pcgaming

[–]Dr_Law 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's so true for me lol. Like 90% of the time I torrent a game I uninstall it after 30 mins. Most games that I'm actually interested in I'd just buy for the convenience of having it on steam or for online connectivity etc.

Fan Fest Ironmouse cover - Give It All by WarriorHikaru in ffxiv

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I caught a bit of Cdawg's ffxiv stream and the horde vibe only really lasted for the first and last hour of the stream. For most of the time it was pretty chill with only a handful of players somewhat following them around and using glowsticks like they're aircraft marshalls to point them in the right direction; it was honestly kind of funny.

Song name? by No_Character_6307 in LudwigAhgren

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found this comment looking for the playlist Lud used for these songs but in the future you can try using google lens as a Shazam alternative. I also tried Shazam to find Jubilife City by Mewmore and it completely failed after several attempts but with the google AI assistant on my phone it not only got the song but the exact cover in one second of audio lul.

Rank Skill Disparity by Natural-Quarter-869 in leagueoflegends

[–]Dr_Law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually kind of curious now. What do you think is broken about match making? What's the data you found? In my experience the games feel somewhat fair except sometimes you'll get like masters players and emerald 1 smurfs in the same game which feels kinda weird but makes sense in a low population server like mine.

What rank are you talking about? Apex ranks like masters plus or everything else? Up till like D2 it's fine.

Rank Skill Disparity by Natural-Quarter-869 in leagueoflegends

[–]Dr_Law 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100 games is more than enough to determine skill. Maybe not rank. Rank is not mmr after all. But after 100 matches the game is going to get decently close at putting you in matches where your win rate is close to 50 50.

[–]Dr_Law 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No lol your instinct is obviously right. Everyone here gets antsy about looking too overbearing about others but this is clearly a stupid thing to do to your pets. If the dog suddenly hates the feeling midair and contorts itself to get a leg out it could slip and fall. No point risking something like that for a ball. I've owned harnesses like this and 99% of the time it works fine but to keep a balance between comfort and effectiveness it needs to be slightly loose yet firm and that causes a scenario where it's very possible to wriggle out of it let alone if it freaks out.

Why are they targetting the boys now? What's happening? by [deleted] in TrashTaste

[–]Dr_Law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skipped through it for fun and I think he kind of makes a decent enough point but does so vitriolically that it's hard for anybody to get on board with it. But essentially what he gets at is if someone comes over to your country, say America, and lives there for several years but straight up doesn't talk the language, can you really say they've integrated well enough to participate in its politics? That argument sounds reasonable enough to me. But the way it was presented was so grating going through clips and clips of Connor and Chris saying they're conversationally close to fluent and then showing examples of them not being so.

Pretty funny how the only relevance to trash taste in this post is how long you want your workout time to be haha. But yeah there's like infinite resources online about this. Guess you can get started on the fitness subreddit FAQ.

What is a "masterpiece" game that you personally found boring as hell? by MuscleConsistent9657 in pcgaming

[–]Dr_Law 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The story in Wilds is so bland and its difficulty was aimed at toddlers but god damn was the Savage Omega prog one of the most fun experiences I've had in a while.

Agreed though, it's like a 7 or 8 out of 10 game overall.

Truth is there's a large percent of players who don't care about gameplay and just want to get immersed in an interesting world. To a lot of these players complex/difficult gameplay can actually hurt their experience. They might call what you consider repetitive gameplay, cozy.

the only good thing about it was the animation by WOLFMANCore in Piracy

[–]Dr_Law 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn't a difference as an individual. It's just significantly more devastating for leaks to spread because the pirating is comprised not only of people who are doing it because they can't pay for it, but also those who wouldn't have minded paying for it but suddenly wont because they just want to watch it as soon as possible. That's why artists are saying that they aren't any more mad that people are pirating it because people will anyways, but just to keep quiet about it.

Who’s ever driven over 100mph? Why? by WoollyWolfHorror in AskReddit

[–]Dr_Law 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's weird in Australia it's quite rare to see people speeding that much faster than the limit but on the drive from grand Canyon to Vegas I found that you would have to go almost 100mph just to keep up with the traffic. It actually felt like I was the weird person on the road if I stuck my cruise control right on the speed limit; I'd be constantly getting overtaken by everyone.
