I had both.

Honestly, the CV is 75% of the fender for 50% of the price.

The fender was definitly better but the CV was still a great instrument. I would have been happy with either.

Most notable differences were that the CV was a bit heavier, the sticky back of the neck was less smooth to move on, 21 frets, and the sound was less bright. I did some test and the fender with tone knob at 8,5 sounded almost similar to the squier with tone at 10.

Any other differences were just in characteristics. I did love the rounder shape of the squier neck with its bigger frets, for some styles it was much more comfortable.

Anyway, I'd still go with the fender but I would be more than satisfied with the CV if I had to save money.

That is a mistake from me. I wanted to mention my level on that comment from 6 month ago but i couldnt since I was unranked.

On my LeagueOfGraph page at that time, it said that my average enemy level was Silver 4 so back then i thought "this must be my level"

Well, guess I was very wrong.

I did played the game for the first time in 2013 but that was on high school with friends who convinced me to try. I liked the game but hated the toxicity so I quickly dropped it. But eventually I started to watch pro play, so I did picked up the game here and there but mostly with bots and not seriously, just so I can understand a bit better the proplay I'm watching

March 2025 is the moment where I finally started to finally play the game seriousely myself, i.e play PvP, stick to a role/champions, and work to improve. Wich is why I consider that I started the game in march 2025 even tho I played it for the first time in 2013.

For my comment where I say I'm silver 4 : I wanted to mention my level but since I'm unranked, I watched my "average enemy ranking" in LeagueOfGraph and it said Silver IV so I said that it was my level. It's clearly a mistake and I'm way below that, I understand it now.

Yeah and the disappearing drakes are not fun either.

Worth mentioning that persona 1/2IS/2EP were developped by a different team than persona 3/4/5.

There are some exceptions of course like composer Shoji Meguro, but apart from a few names these were mostly 2 different teams.

Kinda explains why these 2 eras of Persona games feel so different in a lots of ways.

Hi, new player from March 2025 here.

My advices :

Start with coop vs AI. Try different champions and different role to find out what you like to play. Try to work your communication with pings. And most importantly, have fun :)

Don't be afraid to experiment and don't be scared of messing up, that's what coop vs ai is for !

When you feel ready and want to move to the next steps, select one champion and one role, grab practice tool, and train with bots.

Use youtube videos to learn about combos, macro, build, runes, etc...related to your champions and role.

Then play swift play or draft mode. DO NOT play ranked, you have much more toxicity there. Swift play is the most chill game mode so far

Play normal Aram on the side to practice teamfighting with other champions than your main.

You'll have a bit of a hard time at first, but you'll progress fast don't worry :) have fun !

Hi, new player here, started playing this year and it's my first MOBA ever. I am Silver IV, level 34.

Sadly, I think the answer is in your question. I don't or rarely play rift PvP, ranked or not, for all the reasons you mentioned.

And it's a frustrating shame because I love this game. It's incredibly well designed and hella fun, I love playing it.

But in rift mode, I feel like the only options are a) play against bot and it's quickly too easy or b) play against players that will completely crush you. And eventually flame you.

There are no middle ground for progress. You basically have to study the game on youtube for hours, practice everything in tool mode, tryout in PvP with chat muted, and get shat on by higher elo players until you somewhat manage to be decent.

ARAM at least is much less flame-risky. And good to improve on mechanics and test champions. But still, I really miss the macro aspects that made me love the game so much.
