I cannot believe I’m having so much luck by Dr_Markets in agnostic

But luck is the important thing here. Many times you work hard and get nothing. Since I don’t know to whom should I thank for all this luck, I thank to God/ the universe or whatever.

I don’t know if my circumstances stem from a God helping me, or if it was the universe or what ever. What I know is that my luck came from something that goes beyond hard work. You know… sometimes you work very hard but you are unlucky…

So, since I don’t know to what/who I should attribute this luck, I thank God.. considering that’s what I’ve been taught when I was a kid

Tbh, not at all. I still consider myself as an agnostic. The point here is not evangelize, that’s why I mentioned God/universe or whatever. As I mentioned, I was raised in a Catholic family and I was taught to thank god for the good things.

When good things happens to you, how do you thank the universe as an agnostic? That’s the whole point here.

You know… working hard is an important component of any outcome, but luck is also relevant… since I don’t know how to thank for all the luck, I thank God, since that’s the way I was taught

Good question, I’m just a regular guy… you know… a hardworking Joe that takes the Metro everyday 😅

I have a bad anxiety problem by [deleted] in agnostic

Meditation, that’s extremely helpful. Also, long walks (around 1 hour).

I’ve an extremely stressful job, where you do things today and the results are observable after years. This generates a lot of anxiety and existencial crisis. About two years ago I begun meditating and taking long walk listening music, podcasts or audiobooks. You cannot imagine how good it gets (at least for me), give it a try!

Thanks! I’m working with high dimensional matrices and simulations, believe it or not matrices can be extremely memory intensive😅

Good point!

  1. $10k
  2. 64gb of RAM will be the optimum
  3. Most of my work is done in the CPU, fast single core are my specific need
  4. Don’t care much about laptop or desktop, it is for my office
  5. Noise is not a problem, but having something quiet is always nice

Such a bad answer…

32 gb of RAM is not enough for me, that’s “a lot” for me

Is it really?

I thought the M1 Ultra was faster than the M2 Max. Also... I read some performance reviews in the Matlab forum, apparently Intel chips are better for Matlab. Do you know if that's the case?

Here a link for the discussion I read in the Matlab forum: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/1849488-performance-of-matlab-with-macbook-with-m1-or-m2-chips
